Promo days do not work. I tried giving away 5,000 beach towels on a July 2 games against the D'Rays (5/10 impact), and my attendance jumped a whopping 248 people.

Re: Owner Mode Tips
Okay in regards to Owners Mode...
I started with the Angels and dropped some high salaries to get around a payroll of 79 Million. I Personally bought 1 stand which served Soda, Popcorn, and Pizza I think for like 1 Mil, you might do better off with a soda, pixxa, and popcorn stand by themselves I have not tried. With the rest of the money I bought Promos for the rest of the 1st month and months preceeding that one. Soon I was in the red due to only making about 4-500,000$ per game. Kept my prices on seats 5$ below the norm (what the started at) Concessions I left the same prices (pulling about 20-30%) a game. Then came back into the plus somewhere after the first month.
Basically for the importance of the game 5/10, 7/10 . . . etc you should pull in about 70 - 100,000$ per point of importance...for example 5/10 should net you about 350 - 500,000$. You WILL be in the RED most of the season. Dont get sad and say nothing works. By the end of the 2nd month I was getting close to 100% seating and so I upgraded my seats to Level 2. Once I did this I fell in the hole bad. But I kept through it and finally by my August games had a larger impact and thus, I pulled in a larger cash load. I still have the last month of the season left plus playoffs and I have about 5 mil in the bank. So I should end the season with between 10-15 million if not more from the playoffs.
Make sure you keep winning because fan happiness is the basic means of the # of fans who come to your ball park. And making the playoffs is one of the only ways of turning a major profit. I dont think dropping huge amounts of payroll is wise unless its someone like Roger Cedeno, Chan Ho Park or someone who is vastly overpaid. The larger your salary the more compensation you recieve via your media contract. I hope this helps any of you out there needing some advice. Re: Owner Mode Tips
UPDATE
By the end of the season I had about 14 mil in the bank so I bought more seating Level 3 for 10 Mil. Then I went into the playoffs and lost a tough 7 game series against the Twins. Once the offseason was done I went ahead and bought more concessions. Ice Cream, Peanuts, etc...
Now into my 2nd year I played the yanks with an importance of 2/10 and pulled 700,000+ with a small promotion of like 3,000 magnets.
I will post more updates on the owner mode for those still strugglingNCAA Football

Re: Owner Mode Tips
I started out doing a fantasy draft (wanted my team in owner mode to be different than my team in dynasty). I followed the advice of some in here to get cheap talent. I have David Wright, Doug Mirabelli, Brandon Webb, Jason Westbrook to name a few. I then went through (also on the advice from this thread) and scheduled a ton of promos. For the high impact games (7/10-10/10), I would raise ticket prices to 60-65 and 35-40. I had four concession stands and one store throughout the season. I was making around 500k-600k per home game.
Once I made it to playoffs, I bought a soda stand and one more store. I had 6 mill in the bank for the division series. I started making over 1 million per game. I'm one game into the NLCS and will hopefull be able to upgrade seating, scoreboard, and a few concessions by the end of the playoffs.
Definitely some good advice in here! Thank you.NOW PLAYING: Battlefield 3, MLB 12 The Show

Re: Owner Mode Tips
Every year I fall in the hole early and gain it back at the end, but never get enough to get level 2 seating. I don't know what to do. I am in 2011 and my team is ranked #1 every year, but I always get knocked out in the first round. TO much thanks that a lot of my good players get injured in the last week of the season and are out for the playoffs. The curse lives!!(I'm not the Sox but I just said that for fun)Comment
