    Re: Owner Mode Tips

Who did you draft 1st? And what positions do you feel are the deepest? Obviously Catcher is not very deep behind posada and a few others. Did you go for those positions first or just best young/cheap available? I would think dude from Minn will go fast mauer?

So did you go through and check out salary's first then the ratings for the minors guys then draft? I no the big name guys, but what about the guys like berroa? ss for kc? guys in his mold are they way over priced?

Speaking of Joe Maeur, he is soooo good. I got him on my team in owner mode and he is leading the league in HRs, RBIs, and batting avg. Everyone should try to get him! He is well worth it and so young that he will be around for at least 10 years.

I think I made a little over 600,000 for 5 impact games (somewhere in that area. between 500,000 and 600,000) going up from there. For 10 games, I made about 1.1 mil a game. Again, this was with knowing nothing about how to price concessions/store items. Any advice there would be great.

I think most people are under the impression that MVP owner mode is supposed similar to Madden's. It is very different. Owner mode in MVP is more about building from scratch over a long period of time. In Madden you can jump right in with a team of superstars and a nice stadium and make money hand over fist. MVP makes you start from scratch with a tiny payroll and tiny revenue.

Those of you who want to play with the Yankees or Red Sox and still keep all of their high dollar talent should stick to the Dynasty mode.

With a large budget, what do you guys suggest is the best plan for using that money? Shelling out $4 million for extra seats, and using the rest on one concession stand/a handful of promotions, or using it more for concessions and promotions?

I used a medium budget and bought just 2 concessions with the 2 mil. If I had used a large budget, I would have bought a soda conession, peanut consession, and popcorn consession, and bought promotions for all of my non-rivalry games until mid-August or so. I'm not sure exactly how much there would be left after that, but maybe another consession or attraction.
