Actually it isn't and never has been IMO. I know they only started to test for that this past year though.

In the 70's and 80' most players did. Even though it seems like it would be easy to play baseball every day, it does take it's wear and tear on a body.

I know. Hence why I stated in that post that it isn't right now and never has been. Just because some did it or do it doesn't make it right.

I still don't know. I mean when you have to play every night and also, perform well every night or you can be back down in the minors, I don't know I might take some help! lol

True, I really don't know what I would do. I would like to think I wouldn't cheat, but that is a lot of money! I probably wouldn't, but you never know, especially if everyone was taking something.

Bonds is and always has been as arse. Not just casual pissing people off, we're talking top grade and that was WAAAAY before the money and fame. His college stories are flat out sickening... his treatment of women is distasteful, and his loyalty to his friends is zero. Bah....

The media hates Bonds because his has brought it upon himself like few other athletes I've ever seen. People and the media like nice guys. They'll pass up the opportunity to trash a nice guy, but they'll absolutely roast a guy who's burned them, trashed them, etc.

can you please give me examples of some of these facts......

one more thing...since he has been in the *MLB*.....can you name a couple of teammates or other baseball players that gave the impression that he is an arse.........or is it just the media that has gave you this impression......

I'll help you out with one player.....Andy Van Slyke (sp?) but besides that I can't think of any.... Gary Sheffield...he seems to be changing his tune......

Jeff Kent...(yes the same guy Barry choked in the dugout) has never publicly dissed Barry......

for those who wonder why Barry has always treated the media the way he does......well look into how the Media turned on his father right in front of his very eyes as a child......would you trust the media......or be friendly to them if you knew how they really were......

again Barry has never failed a Steroid test and is still hitting Homeruns.....why.....

he has the Government after him.... MLB after him....and you mean to tell me if he was indeed guilty, they still can't prove sh!t.......LOL.......the Government......lol.......so what is the problem?

It's a big deal because he used steroids to help him break the most prestigious record in all of sports.

yes be he still was arguably the best player in baseball before that.

Mark McGwire hit a Home-Run once every 11.94 at bats ( before any assistance )

The year Mark hit his 70 Home-Runs he hit a home-Run once every 7.27 at bats...( After a little help from his friends )




Barry Bonds hit a Home-Run once every 15.67 at bats ( before any assistance )

The year barry hit 73 Home-Runs he hit a Home-Run once every 6.52 at bats...( after a little help from his friends )

I guess I like the Home-Runs Ted Williams hit, plus anyone who would put their career on hold so they could risk there life to fight for our Country is Ok with me.

Roger Maris 61 Home Runs
Hank Aaron 755 Career Home-Runs

Roger Maris's lifetime home-Run average was one Home-Run every 18.54 at bats...
Rogers 61 HR season he hit one Home-Run every 9.67 at bats ( on his own! ) Impressive!

Hey now I am 36 and I haven't lose anything! Bonds work out schedule is crazy. He works out at a gym around here and it is crazy how much time he was spending in there, but what ever. I am 36 and still have my muscle mass that I had when I was 25. You can look at Actors that are 40 they still are in shape. It depends on your genetics, diet and working out. I will say one thing he does come from good genes. His dad was chiseled.

I will say this, if it was such a big deal to baseball. They would have made the testing process stronger, but did they no? Why? They want the HR's bring in more money.

How much stronger can they make it? Thay already test for every known steroid and many other things. There just isn't a test for HGH, period.

I'm a Giants fan first and a Bonds fan second, but I don't defend Bonds because he plays for the Giants. If he is ever traded to the Yankees, Cubs, or A's (my three least favorite teams), I will cheer for him and do what I do to defend him no matter what. I don't want to be thought up as a "Giants fan" when I'm defending him... just think of me as a "Bonds fan", if that's at all possible.

If you're worried about HGH being the biggest factor in Bonds' performance, then please worry for two-thirds of the entire league as well. Bonds wouldn't ever be the only person using illegal drugs that the MLB doesn't test for. I'm sure today's top pitchers wouldn't be where they are without these kinds of drugs, and I'm sure that Prior and Gagne probably put off some supplements that they were using during hardcore testing, and can't overperform like they used to, and are now getting hurt because of it. Unfortunately, same things are probably happening to guys like Edmonds, Durazo, Beltre, Drew, and Sexson as well.
