Makes no sense to me. Dunn would be horrible in RF with the sun, wind, and all of the other elements in RF at Wrigley. I'd much rather see Jermaine Dye if they're going to make a trade. I'm fine with Floyd out there for now and keeping the team as-is.
    Oh God no.

So it looks like Tex is destined for either Boston, Atlanta, or L.A. (Angels). Then Benoit to the Cardinals as a possibility. Soooo now you still have Lofton, Gagne, Otsuka, and Wilkerson as possibilites. Where do you all think they might end up? I would assume Gagne or Otsuka (or both) in Detroit. Lofton to the Yanks or cards(again?)

He was dealt to the Mets at the deadline last year but the deal fell through.

Do the Padres have such a surplus of relievers that they could just trade Linebrink for prospects? I don't get why they would trade one of their best relievers when they're fighting for 1st in their division. Good trade for the Brewers though.

                  Some more rumors floating around:

The Angels are interested in trading for Paul Konerko. Konerko was offered a huge contract by the Angels a couple of years ago but decided to stay in Chicago would have to waive his no-trade clause to go the Angels.

The Twins may be interested in Pat Burrell. The Phillies have been scouting Kevin Slowey, who they will likely ask for in return for Burrell.

The Red Sox offered Joel Pineiro to the A's for Bobby Kielty, the A's passed.

They have enough to get by with for now. Heath Bell and Kevin Cameron have pitched very well and Doug Brocail and Cla Meredith have been decent.
I would expect to see the Padres make a deal to add a reliever at the deadline as well.

I knew about the rumors last year, but with the Pads contending this year, I figured they'd stick with him.

Maybe they knew there's was little chance of resigning him. Who knows? I agree it's a little odd they would deal him now considering the position they're in.

The local radio reported that Terry Ryan has been working the phones hard this year. He should be on for an interview tomorrow which will be interesting.

That better be the seller's phone he's talking on. If he brings in another washed up veteran who's a "professional hitter", I'm going to lose it.

                              Sounds like Reggie Sanders.

Oh, Grudzielanek was supposedly a late scratch from the Royals lineup... been some talk about him going to the Mets, could be something up there.

Yeah, I guess so... winning both series would definitely make things seem a bit brighter and perhaps JP won't just cross his arms and sit there.

On that note, who do you suggest JP moves, or brings in? He's probably going to be looking for a solution at short if he's making any deals, but JP already turned down the rumours about Jack Wilson. Then again, he does lie like every other GM...
