Except they traded Monroe and his Mendoza line batting average to the Cubs last season, and you forgot Sheffield. And Inge won't be playing everyday now that Cabrera is here.

Only thing I don't like about this trade is the fact that Dontrelle is now in the AL. It was kind of exciting watching a pitcher who was an actual threat w/the bat.

Shame he stopped being a threat on the mound.

I knew I forgot someone. Wouldn't they move Inge to DH?

            He'd be the 2nd worst DH, behind whoever the Twins trot out.;

              Inge was garbage hitting anyway.

At least Jason Tyner has a bobblehead to go along with his 1 career homerun.

Seriously though, Jason Kubel projects to be the primary DH this season, so Inge would definately be the worst.

Yeah, Kubel may have Inge beat.

                      Sheffield is the Tigers' DH.

                      C: Pudge
                      1B: Guillen
                      2B: Polanco
                      3B: Cabrera
                      SS: Renteria
                      LF: Jones/Thames
                      CF: Granderson
                      RF: Maggs
                      DH: Sheff

My original post earlier said Sheffield was the DH, but I started second guessing myself thinking he was the 1st baseman. Forgot they were moving Guillen there.

horrible. It should be mandatory to spend a certain amount of money on a team to own one.

This is why no one watches Marlins games, and no one will. What's the point? Even if the players they got turn out to be any good, it won't matter because they'll just trade them away in four years anyways.

I feel bad for their fans. This time they don't even seem to want to win a World Series, they're just trading everyone away before they can be competitive again.

When the players signed that deal, I fussed & fussed & fussed about the union not requiring a minimum salary cap. Right now, only about 6-10 teams are really trying & about 6-7 of those are locked in the AL.

well I actually like watching the young marlins play. You don't have to spend 1 billion a year to win, as the marlins have won it twice, and it's not like these guys would have been too expensive to keep. There obviously has to be something in place to force teams to at least put on a facade of fielding a competitive team. They'll have like a 10 million dollar payroll next year.

I guess the marlins just want to have 400 fans a game until MLB notices and forces a city to build them a new taxpayer funded stadium.
