All the news and readings I have been hearing the last week, Santana should be a Met soon. I hope this happens, I will love Pedro and Santana as my 1/2 punch, thats if Pedro if good to go, He's had so much time to heal..

Looks like the Mets are the favorite at this point, but the Twins still have a deal on the table giving Johan 20 per over 4 years, I believe. He wants something longer, like 6 or 7 years. If he's dealt, I still see it being Boston. Being the favorite at this point doesn't mean much.Comment

That is the deal that is on the table. The Twins have a policy against giving pitchers more than 4 year deals which I think they could set aside for Santana but it doesn't appear that they will. It is looking like he will be traded within the next 7 days or so to either the Mets or Red Sox. I still contend that none of the deals do a ton for me, but I understand that his value is unlikely to raise any more than it is at right now in terms of what the teams interested in him are likely to give up.Comment

Buster Olney is saying on ESPN 1050 NY that the Minnesota Twins and the NY Mets have reached a tentative agreement on a deal for Santana. It is believed that the Mets will be given the time to negotiate with Santana behind the sidelines.Comment

The Ticket (1310 AM) in Dallas just confirmed it as well. Not that they're local to the story or anything, but they're usually pretty up-to-speed on that stuff.Sports are good.
