Dude, your sig makes my retinas hurt.

On-topic: as an AL guy, I like this trade. Not that it really helps the Rangers that much, so nevermind.

On that note, though is there a millionaire on these boards that would love to buy the team from Hicks? We're going nowhere 'til he sells.

Sigh...I was afraid the Mets would end up with Johan. You have to pencil them in now as the fav to win the East. Last time the Mets acquired a bit time LHP (2000/Hampton), they ended up in the World Series. Oh well...

It looks as good as done. This makes sense for the Mets, giving them instant credibility again, all important in the most fickle city in the world.

They've not got a great track record with prospects, and they can fit Santana into their payroll without exceeding the luxury tax barrier. The Yanks were never in this after signing Rodriguez to that awful contract.

Santana in that park, in that division, Cy Young.

I saw Mulvey pitch a few times in college. He's going to be a stud.

Does this now make the Mets the team to beat in the NL East, or even the best team in the NL?

I'd like to hear what some think.

According to BA 2007 Top Ten list, this was the Mets' #2,#3,#4, and #7 prospects.

On top of what impact you think Santana will have on the Mets, do you think they've given up too much?
