Yea I tend to agree. I quit caring as much. Can't have a hall without "The Rocket" and Bonds. I realized it's kind of trivial. There's alot of guys that don't belong and they have plaques.

I still pay attention of course and I know it means the world to the player that gets in. But being older and wiser. I don't like or respect alot of these sanctimonious writers anyway.

I got my own hall. And it's better then those clowns picks.

I guarantee you that Bonds, Clemens, etc. have FAR more HOF support among baseball writers than they do among their fellow players.

I'd also be curious to see if someone took a poll of baseball fans to see if Bonds and Clemens should enter Cooperstown. I kinda doubt if they'd get 75+% support.

I honestly think the poll would fall based on age range.

My gut tells me people who were say 10-30 during their carers would probably vote them in.

31-45 Would probably be in the 65ish% range would be my guess.

The older you go the less support they will have.

At the end of the day, we're never going to know just who was using and who wasn't using, but we do know a majority seem to have been using. Brady Anderson doesn't just magically decide to hit 50 one year out of no where without some help. That 50HR year also didn't make Brady Anderson sniff the HOF.

Agreed. There's a similar age gap between the pro/anti Bonds/Clemens writers, I suspect.

Andruw Jones not being in the Hall makes no sense to me.
I get it that with injuries, his 2nd half wasn't great. But man, his first 10 years in the league were amazing.
He was also the greatest defensive CFer in history.

I have to think, if his best 10 were from ages 23 to 33, he'd be in.
            HoF writers are weird.

I fall into the 10-30 range for when Bonds, Clemens and the PED Shop Boys(TM) were dominating baseball and I wouldn't vote for any of them.
I'm super stubborn when it comes to PED abusers and both Bonds and Clemens were caught red handed.
              I hope neither get in.
The sad part is, both of them SHOULD be in based on the first-half of their careers when they were clean. They didn't need the PEDs to build a HoF resume.

Mark McGwire is another one that started his career off with a bang. He set the MLB rookie record with 49 home runs when he looked like Olive Oyl. He retired looking like Pop Eye.

I’m one that is totally against allowing PED users in the Hall.

                    Bonds wasn't caught.

The HOF without Bonds, Clemens, and Rose really makes it a questionable Hall for me personally. Rolen is a good guy so he gets in, hmm? It's silly, but that's the opinion of somebody on the outside looking in.

I wonder if Bonds got that 2002 ring then he would have a few more votes.

I would vote for Dale Murphy over Scott Rolen or even Todd Helton any day.

                      That is all.

building a HoF resume is probably the furthest thing from any players mind when juicing

                          Technically neither was A-Rod.
                          Passed every urine test.
But outside means were used to catch both.
Game of Shadows wrote that Bonds used PEDs. If this was false he could have sued for libel. He didn't because he did take them as shown in BALCO documents.
                          He only sued to prevent the release of information;
"Bonds sued the authors and publisher of the book over its use of grand jury documents and tried to block the publishers and authors from profiting from such documents.[2] On March 24, Judge James Warren denied the request, citing free speech protections for the authors and that the lawsuit had little chance for success.[3] On June 12, 2006, Barry Bonds dropped his lawsuit against the authors."
                          Clemens had similar circumstantial evidence.

However, I agree the Rose should be in.
But any PED abusers can rot outside the Hall as far as I'm concerned.

McGriff going in with blank hat.

When you played for three different teams for 5 seasons each, this one does make more sense than some others we've seen with a blank hat.

Atlanta would be the one he had most success in given he played more games there and won a WS, but he had similar numbers in Toronto and Tampa.
