Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
Technically, Sadaharu Oh has 868 home runs. It's the National (ie, American) Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. NPB is a respectable league, but it's not MLB.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
We have had this one before but feel we should revisit him.
David Ortiz. IMO the most intriguing case of getting in or not. Has the DH thing against him, some using his words, bull**** failed test that he doesn't know what he failed the test for. But you look at his stats both in the regular season and postseason. Over 500 HR's, 1600 RBI's, 2300 hits, .925 OPS in the regular season. And in the postseason 17 HR's, 60 RBI, 87 hits, .962 OPS in 82 postseason games.
And you can't argue that he shouldn't get into the HOF with those numbers. Like if he plays first and has no cloud around his name for roids he is a first ballot guy along the likes of Pedro, Johnson, Maddux.Comment

Yeah, I get that the voters don't think DH is a legit position (and I'm with them to a certain extent), but they could at least look at guys who were far and away the best DHs of their decade (or more) and give them a look. Give Ortiz and Edgar a chance. They ignore horrible defending from first basemen who are excellent hitters all the time, so it's not like fielding your position is vital anyways.Last edited by dubcity; 11-17-2015, 05:58 PM.Comment
