The Rays steal that trade. Take out the $50 and make it three used baseballs.

Considering what the A's have at SS, i'd be glad to give up 50 bucks and a bucket of baseballs to give Beckham a try...cant be worse then Adam Rosales

Dude, c'mon. I didn't open this thread for Rays fans to blatantly try and rip people off.

It's actually a decent point.. but my Jed Lowrie idea was confirmed-ish by Dave Cameron today. Said the Stros could sell him off at the deadline.

the A's wont need Lowrie at the deadline so that point is moot

              Rangers give:
              Elvis Andrus
              Martin Perez
              Kellin Deglan

              Diamondbacks give:
              Justin Upton

As a Rangers fan, it'll really hurt to lose Elvis Andrus, but I'd rather give up Elvis than Profar.

How much would Tommy Hanson/Mike Minor cost the Blue Jays? I'm thinking a couple of decent prospects.

I will personally pay the Jays to take Hanson. Minor, as we discussed in the other thread, would have to be several prospects.

I think we said Stilson/Dyson + Sierra + Dean..? Not sure.

Is Hanson actually that bad? The dude makes like 700K... he'd be a helluva 5th starter, no?

It's not that he's awful. It's the way he's mediocre. He pitches like he's a scared little kid on the mound, nibbling away at the corners and driving up his pitch count. By the 5th inning he's around 100-110 pitches and he always has a bad inning that just takes him out of the game. Awful body language. If he had Kris Medlen's attitude he'd be an elite pitcher. He reminds me of Smoltz when he came up and had to have a psychologist sit behind home plate when he pitched...just so fragile.

The Brewers have some decent young pitching ready, like Johnny Hollweg, and Colby has huge potential. Colby's 2012 stats are... complicated. He started off piss-poor, then played like a God, and then got injured, but freaking Farrell made him play through it.
Gomez hit 19 bombs last year, hit .260 and stole 37 bases along with playing good D. At this point Gomez > Rasmus. Aoki was damn good for a rookie (2.9 WAR) We all know who Braun is. They still have Morgan on the bench and Corey Hart can play OF. The last thing the Brewers need is an OF, and they really need pitching. I can't even name the entire Brewer's rotation post Grenkie trade last year. Plus, Gallardo is twice the player Rasmus is. This makes no sense.

Selling on Rasmus would be selling low. You'd be lucky to get much of anything of value for him right now.

Agree, Brewers need more pitching. They shouldn't be content of having 4/5ths of their rotation being made up of #5/fringe #4 starters.

I agree with all of these points (except possibly Gomez > Rasmus). All very fair.

i don't know, now i see gomez being better than rasmus. When rasmus came up i thought that he would be a 30-30 for like 5-6 years. Now for the last two years, i think that gomez is better than rasmus, not by much, but better

Gomez has more speed, better fielder(is not by much, but he's better), surprised that gomez has a better SLG than Rasmus, in these two last years. doesn't s/o as much like rasmus, he s/o a lot but not like rasmus.

EDIT: and everyone favorite stat. Gomez has a better WAR for the past 2 years
