Exactly. Everything is treating Sori like he's freaking choped liver. Sori is a GREAT player. Jose can't even hold a candle to Sori in terms of offense, but defense - yeah, Reyes is better, but Sori is improving at his second position. Let's see how Reyes does in his second position.
Btw, I doubt Sori passed him prime yet. I feel like he's only beginning to get there.

Dude, Reyes is 20 years old, he has the potential to be a star. He showed it last year. Plus Soriano's offense can't help the Mets real weakness and that's pitching.

Re: Rumored trade - Sori for Jose Reyes

The Sporting News has Reyes listed as the #4 shortstop in the league (although he will be playing 2nd this season). If the Mets trade him, I might just have to cut myself!

My point here would be that the Rangers are again trying to dump salary, which in EVERY CASE is a GOOD IDEA for them. You don't get many good ideas from the Rangers, so F'ING CHERISH IT PEOPLE!

There are only two people in the history of baseball to have more than 75 hrs and 75 sbs combined in 2 consecutive seasons. Barry Bonds and Alfonso Soriano. If I am the Met's I do this deal. Yes Reyes had a nice season, but Sori has had two monster seasons. Also I realize that Reyes is younger, but baseball players can play into their 40's and be productive, Edgar, Nolan Ryan, Bonds, just to name a few. Sori is an upgrade to Reyes if you ask me.

                              Jose Reyes 2003: .307, 5HR, 22RBIs, 13SB

                              Soriano 2003: .290, 38HR, 91RBIS, 35SB

It's like Jose Viscaino vs. A-Rod.
