Reyes will get his chance this year, and if you're serious about shipping him for Young then I'd have to doubt your baseball knowledge.

    That's pretty funny, man.

Bottom line: Slap hitting, good glove shortstops are a dime a dozen (anyone remember Gary Templeton?). The Natural-type pitchers are not.

Bottom line: Lightning speed, high average hitting shortstops, with tremendous range, a cannon for an arm, and a GREAT glove are not a dime a dozen.

I don't know how long that will last. Any scout in the league will tell you that Reyes is head and shoulders above Kaz when it comes to playing shortstop.

It will last cause reports out of Port St' Lucie is that reyes looks good at second and he's coming along day by day. This is a no brainer deal. Im love Reyes but hey I want that star the shines right know, Soriano got about 10 more years left in him, I do it now.

What are the Mets thinking? If they could trade Reyes for Soriano and prospects, then why wouldn't they have just gotten A-Rod to come to the team he really wanted to play for?

well wilpon said there is no way reyes is being traded - but the a-rod situation... one never knows.. this proposed deal works for both teams.. 1) it will allow Soriano to play second base, not CF - thus also allowing Lanyce(sp) Nix to play CF for Texas.. 2) Texas will have a shortstop (+ the fact that Reyes doesnt have to move to second).. i hope this deal does not go down, however.. just because i want to see what tyoe of player reyes becomes..
