How does a terrible infielder equate to a good outfielder?

This is all personal preference.
If I'm a Mets fan, I'd be happy with the direction the club is headed. If they get a good year out of Glavine and Leiter, then why can't they contend? They have perhaps the best defensive tandem up the middle of the field in Kaz, Reyes, and Cameron. Art Howe knows what he's doing. One thing Howe didn't like in Oakland were free swingers who K'd alot. I doubt he'd be pushing to tack on one in New York. Mets are fine offensively, I'd be more worried about getting pitching and keeping runs off the board then picking up a defensive liability who's going to help opposing teams put runs on the board.

Mets are not "fine" offensively, they stink! The only players who are capable of putting up big numbers are Piazza and Floyd. Their infield production would be lacking. I doubt Mets trade away Kazmir, their best pitching prospect. This is a team that too is desperate for young arms.

Is this some kind of a joke? In the outfield, Sori won't be restricted from using his full athleticism, as opposed to IF. His main job would be tracking down flyballs, while in the IF he mostly gets to field the grounders and turn the double play(which he isn't polished at). In the OF, ge gets to take advantage of his speed, as opposed to letting it rot away in the IF. Plus, he has a strong arm. And don't worry, his body ain't breaking down any time soon nor is his speed going to dissapear. He ain't Roger Cedeno.
Oh, and for the record, he ain't a terrible IF, either. He's an above-average. He does manage to boot routine plays, but he also makes plays at second that others aren't capable of.
