IDK, all that says he won't pitch and that is consistent with anything else I've read.

Could be announced as the starting CF and hitting ninth in the order.

Could take the field in the bottom of the first only to be replaced before the inning starts (I don't think there is a rule similar to a pitcher that a fielder has to play for a batter).

I just don't necessarily see the point in doing that in front of 19 paid fans unless he really wants to.

An Astro's fan called the ticket office and said he wanted to buy tickets for tomorrows game and then asked what time the game started.

The ticket agent asked "What time can you get here?"

Rivera says no CF because he's not sure about his knee. I feel that Thursday in NY was pretty much the perfect way to go out anyway besides closing out a World Series.

Great final start from Pettitte too.

I'm glad Rivera got to go out the way he did. Playing CF? Meh.

As for Johnson, well, I'm glad Pendleton confronted him. Johnson's been a whiny bitch lately.

Wait....are you sure Westbrook isn't facing like 1 hitter then being pulled?

I cannot see Matheny doing this. We need to win tomorrow and Kelly needs some more work before the playoffs if we plan on actually using him as a starter.

My guess is this for the rotation:

                  Wainwright
                  Miller
                  Kelly
                  Wacha
                  Wainwright

I could also see Wainwright being used in game 4 if needed and I could also see Wacha starting over Kelly. I think you have to start Miller in game 2 since he does well at home and we baby him anyways.

Shoot Lynn might even be the 3rd/4th guy...who knows lol. All I know is Westbrook better not be on the roster.

Sounds like Westbrook will be on a short leash and Kelly will be ready if needed but in a must win that short leash might be just enough to hang ourselves.

Matheny also said he doesn't see a major difference between being the first or second seed in the playoffs.

I loved him as a player but he really rubs me the wrong way fairly often as a manager, IMO he's lucky we have the talent we do because if this was a rebuild he was hired into I don't have much faith he'd succeed, he just seems clueless about a lot of things even substitutions and pitching changes over the course of the season.

I want him to succeed but I'm a little worried we might be wasting some prime years as championship contenders with him at the helm. Here's to hoping he can prove me wrong.

From what I read on the Braves website, Pendleton was pissed at Johnson for throwing his batting helmet in the dugout. Apparently it hit Pendleton when it was thrown, and he was upset with Johnson because this wasn't the first time that Johnson has thrown his helmet around the dugout and it hit someone.

I hope Indians and Rays win today.

Indians so that they'd be guaranteed WC spot and Rays so that the Jays are guaranteed a top 10 pick in 2014 draft(meaning they can't lose it if they sign a big free agent)

Can't believe it's last day of season already. As bad as Jays season has been, gonna feel like forever from now until Spring Training. I always look forward to that part of year regardless of how bad Jays were the season before, cause spring training means weather gets warmer, days feel longer and get to watch a sport I haven't seen in like half a year.
