Re: 9/23 - 9-29 Game Discussion Thread: The Final Week of the Season
I see people still thinking it's about "asshurt" over a homer
Be more inaccurate, why don't you.
It'. Not. About. The. Homer. I don't get what's so hard to understand about this.Comment

I hate the pronunciation of Maholm. I don't read it right in my mind and then when it's spoken on TV it throws me off for a second.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Heyward has three doubles and a homer tonight and it's only the sixth inning.
Here's hoping he plays this way from here on out.Comment

Just sitting back and watching everyone battle it out is a nice feeling. Can't wait for the playoffs. The two Red Sox TV guys, Don Orsillo and Dennis Eckersley will be paired together for the LDS. Here's to hoping they have the Sox series!Red Sox|Patriots|Celtics|UConnComment

As a Red Sox fan, I can remember all of Mo's good moments and bad moments. Not just against the Sox, but in general. If Mo wasn't here, the Sox probably wouldn't have won the 2004 WS. If Mo wasn't here, the Yankees probably would have won the 2001 WS for the city of NY still cringing from 9/11. His impact, both good and bad, has been so collosal to the game. I'm going to miss you Mo. Yes. This is coming from a diehard Red Sox fan.Red Sox|Patriots|Celtics|UConnComment

Crazy to see how much Yankees might be changing by next season. I've been watching baseball for like 15 or so years, and from the Yankees I've always known watching guys like Rivera,Jeter,Posada among others. Posada already retired, Rivera retiring now, and who knows how long Jeter has left.
Sports in general is changing like crazy! Jeter might be done soon and who knows what shape Kobe will be in when he comes back.Comment

Im 22 bout to be 23 next week. From NY and am a die hard Yankees fan even have the Yankee logo tattooed on my arm. Its sad to see my first era of Yankees baseball coming to a close. Jeter, Mo, Pettite, Posada. All thats left is Jeter and he has what 2 years left maybe. Damn times are changing. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Sweeping the Yankees in NY is always sweet, but doing it while simultaneously eliminating them from playoff contention AND pretty much locking up a postseason spot for yourselves has to make it even sweeter.

Reading all of these responses, its amazing to me how not one Braves fan is willing to admit any fault by McCann, Freeman, or Maholm. If they just kept their mouths' shut and take the high road, none of this happens.
After seeing the altercation over the Jose Fernandez homer not too long ago, I think the Braves just seem to take these unwritten rules a little too seriously. Their team has already locked up the division and is playing for the best record in the NL. Who cares about Carlos Gomez and the Brewers at that point?Comment
