Yet my TL was filled with "I hate Brian McCann", "McCann is a *****" tweets. All I could think was that if a player on these respective haters teams had done it they would love it.

You nailed it, people are gonna most likely take the side of their favorite team. It's just like Manziel, people only bitch about him, because he's not on their team.

I'm not taking sides, nobody technically knows who started this. Gomez took his sweet *** time getting out of the box, but I'm pretty sure the Braves started it with ****ing run Godamnit coming out of I believe Maholm's mouth, and then Gomez started chirping.

The Braves are looking pretty suspect now though, this has happened quite a few times now. LOL at how Gomez was mainly in an altercation with Brian, and then he ends up getting a cheap shot from Reed Johnson.

B-Mac has always been one of my favorite Braves, but he went up another notch last night.

Reed Johnson should be the only person to face further punishment for this incident. He's a bum though, so it's not like it would hurt Atlanta anyway. I don't really care about "class" in pro sports anyway. The object of the game is to win, not to make the other team not feel sorry for themselves when they lose. While Carlos Gomez is an arrogant prick, I'd take him on my team any day. He actually leads the NL in WAR right now (slightly ahead of McCuthen) so that gives him more room to do whatever the **** he wants IMO. Don't like that he hit a homer off you? Pitch better next time. Don't like that he was talking smack after he hit said homer? Keep your mouth shut and let him make an *** of himself next time. Atlanta has always had that sore loser attitude (see Wild Card game last year) but like I said, doesn't matter to me. Let's not act like they're perfect little angels though because they're not. It seems to me like they get involved in more of these incidents than any other team. There has got to be a reason for that.

Because people are piling on one side and praising the other when they virtually did the same thing.

Okay... Sorry if it offends. It's just a pet peeve when people qualify things by saying "I don't care but *rant*" or "It doesn't matter to me but *rant".

They virtually did the same thing? That's ****ing ridiculous.

Nobody on the Braves asked Carlos Gomez to stare down Maholm from the start. Nobody on the Braves asked him to start jawing at him as soon he hit it. Nobody on the Braves asked him to continue to act like a piece of **** AROUND THE ENTIRE DIAMOND acting like he extracted some great vengeance against Maholm for supposed transgressions over the years.

So excuse me if I don't buy your "they virtually did the same thing" crap. No. One person acted like a bitch just like he always does, and the other team stood up against it.

You talk about how there's a common theme. Yeah, there is a common theme. Bryce Harper acts like a punk and yaps about things not being over and acts like a punk on the field, and he gets dealt with. Carlos Gomez acts like the piece of crap that he's been his entire career and he gets dealt with. Anyone who watched MLB Network (apparently Scott Van Pelt didn't, but I'm not surprised) saw the history between Maholm and Gomez and saw that McCann set up inside on the pitch that hit Gomez in the knee in June, but he had to act like a bitch and slide into second dirtily when he got on. And now he's going to come into our stadium and act like that and expect not to get dealt with by Freeman and McCann and it's somehow a bad thing that he did? No. That's insane.

Again, this isn't about admiring home runs. People admire home runs all the freakin' time. The Jose Fernandez thing was blown way out of proportion but the Harper and Gomez incidents were absolutely, 100% dealt with properly.

Don't start no ****, won't be no ****. Gomez started ****, and Freeman and McCann stepped up as leaders. Too bad.

I guess that makes Jered Weaver a great leader!

I hope Gomez sits down in the batter's box until the ball is officially out of the park after his next home run against the Braves.

Everyone hates the Brewers anyway because of Braun. Let's just be that team. Let's play the heel. It'll be awesome.
