He's not dancing or doing a one man play, he's just letting it out. I think the Bautista bat flip was the same, more showy just by the action, but I think it was an issue of intensity as opposed to one of trying to show up the other team.
Yes, there's a difference. A big difference. Nothing wrong with Jose Bautista AT ALL. But compare him to the Carlos Gomez situation against the Braves for example where he was talking **** to Freddie Freeman and to the pitcher as he was rounding first and all that? That's not just emotion. Screw that. And me saying that has nothing to do with it being against the Braves, before I'm inevitably told that it does.

I don't even like saying it's "showing up" the other team, because I don't even care about that. Just don't be a piece of ****.

Very well put. This is pretty much how I view it too.

And that has nothing to do with me being a Jays fan

Sounds like it's only a matter of time before we can sort players on FanGraphs by brain wave activity.

I'm surprised it took so long for neurological activity to be measured and used in this manner. I did this a little in a Biofeedback class I took in graduate school, but it was with visualization instead. I'm really interested to see what kind of similarities they find with high level athletes/players.

What happened in that situation? This sounds like you're saying Gomez yelled at Freeman for no reason.

You're sure there wasn't an exchange between both players or another player? Something that incited Gomez to talk back?

If someone is saying you're wrong for your perspective for being a braves fan, I think the reason is right there. You're turning it into Gomez did something wrong by showing up the Braves without placing any blame on the Braves creating an environment for his reaction.

If I recall correctly, it was purely on Gomez. I think the backstory was that he was HBP earlier in the game (or maybe earlier in the season) and he felt it was payback. Remember McCann stopping him before he got to home plate?

Jose Fernandez didn't jaw but did throw his bat after he hit a HR against ATL...I think it was McCann too who jawed at him but that time I think it was just a player (Jose) getting excited.

It was the Braves playing Unwritten Rules Police. Gomez thought he was hit intentionally by Maholm in a previous AB. He hit a bomb, let Maholm know, then Freeman and McCann chimed in because they thought it was disrespectful.

Don't think it was the first time Gomez had pulled that stuff. Or if it was it wasn't the last.

He took it too far, and admitted as much. But the way McCann and Freeman tried to "police" it was just as egregious and even more "embarrassing to the game"
