No he's very borderline. He's in Mussina territory for me. Very good pitchers but never truly dominated the league. No CY Young's hurt the case to.

Still should have stayed on the ballot a lot longer.

I think Mussina is criminally underrated though. Mussina was pitching in an era of Roger Clemens and Pedro Martinez and Randy Johnson. No shame in not winning a Cy Young when those guys were in your league. Furthermore, Mussina pitched his entire career in the AL East with some really strong lineups. I am a HUGE fan of Kevin Brown's performance/career, but I'd take Mike Mussina over him every time.

Brown pitched in that era too. He held his own. However, I agree with you on Moose. I'd have no problem with him having a plaque in the hall.

Especially with Jack Morris in. I wouldn't be angry with KB in either though. He was pretty damn good.

I don't disagree on Brown...I'm just saying that I hear a lot of people knock Mussina by saying "he didn't win a CYA" and I just don't think it should be held against him. He had 6 top 5 finishes and 8 top 6 finishes in the voting...I have no problem if both went into the HOF, but I'd take Mussina before Brown.

Watching MLB Tonight, Pedro briefly mentions how a batter got a pitch in his "bat waggle" and crushed it...he briefly explained it, Amsinger says to look at the video they did of that a while ago.

I STRONGLY encourage you to watch this. I've watched/played baseball all my life...something so simple yet it never occurred to me. Pedro continues to amaze me with his intellect of the game.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Wow that's incredible. I never thought that bat waggling had a science to it. Been watching and playing this game all my life and I'm still learning things.

Dude has a career 76.5 fWAR that is 25th in history...and he 2.1% of the vote his first ballot.

                  **** Kevin Brown.

That bat waggle video is pretty cool. Seems almost common sense but I'm not sure I ever really put that together.

                    The bat waggle.

Unbelievable how obvious it is and never ever thought about it.

I just spent some time having a Blzer moment and trying this myself. Sure enough, my bat waggle from the left and right side is exactly where I like the pitch and remember having the most success with pitches.

And as someone that pitches, I've never paid attention to it. Better believe I will on Tuesday when I have a scrimmage game.

Cutch returns to PNC park tonight. Aren’t they retiring someone’s jersey?

                        Not that I've heard of.

You mean Barry Bonds' #25 jersey being retired on August 11th vs Pittsburgh? Yeah, I think so.
