First thing I thought of was the bicep flyer for Dennis and Mac's party mansion.

Another important question: Is that "wings" script in ranch or blue cheese?
      Also, GTFOH with that celery.

The Votto stuff to me seems kind of ridiculous. Yea, he could of handled that a whole lot better. But what's done is done.

Clearly something happened in Canada that he holds a grudge about. I don't see why you would say something like that. Unless something really bothers him. His true feelings came out. And you should never tell the media your true feelings. Ever.

I definitely get why some people were bothered by this. Canadians are super proud and passionate about their sports teams and players. They show it in spades. Hell, you notice it on OS.

But there's more to this then Votto being a douchebag and just basically saying "**** Canada"

I've always found Votto to be interesting. I don't know anybody that would stay in Cincinatti on a losing team for this long. But he's very comfortable there. Votto is a honest and loyal guy from what I've gathered.

There's alot more behind these comments. I'm just not sure what it is.

Former teammate Mark Teixeira is not buying Cano's excuse...

Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano's teammate with the Yankees for five years, says he is "not surprised" by the Seattle star's 80-game suspension for a banned substance. The ESPN analyst did not offer any specifics or examples to support the assertion.

He kind of did say why later on. He mentioned how Melky got popped and was best buddies with Cano. He mentioned the Biogenesis-linked assistant and A-Rod. I think that was the grounds for his suspicion.

"Let's just use this situation here. Robbie Cano's assistant was on the list for Biogenesis," Teixeira said Thursday, referring to the clinic at the center of Major League Baseball's 2013 PED scandal. "Now, of course, [he] had an assistant, you know, buy stuff for him. Alex Rodriguez got popped by Biogenesis and Melky [former Yankees outfielder Melky Cabrera] got popped. They were best friends. When someone gets lumped into that group, it's because there's evidence. There's a paper trail, there's a smoke trail."

How many current/former Yankees have been suspended for PEDs or legitimately suspected of it? Seems like if there was a list, Yankees would be close to if not at the top.

If that's all he's basing his opinion it seems kind of weak. Seems like he'd have more hard details than guilty by association. And if he does, then say that or just don't comment on it.

Just annoys me to comment then say you don't want to get into it.

Outfielder Juan Lagares suffered a complete tear of his big toe plantar plate, an MRI showed Friday. He will undergo surgery, likely missing the rest of the Mets' season.

Best single season performance of all time...

                          I think Babe Ruth's 1923 season might have my vote: .393/.545/.764, 41 HR 131 RBI 151 R 17 SB, 231 RC+

                          Barry Bonds' 2001 season is also rather nice: .328/.515/.863, 73 HR 137 RBI 129 R 13 SB, 235 wRC+

                          Can't go wrong with Lou Gehrig's 1927 either: .373/.474/.765, 47 HR 175 RBI 149 R 10 SB, 209 wRC+

What do you guys think the best single season ever played is (hitting or pitching)?

I think Bonds' 2004 single season was far superior to his 2001 season (I think 2002 was better as well).

I always think Gooden's 1985 season gets overlooked in these discussions. I think it has the 2nd highest WAR of any player since 1900, IIRC, coming in around 13-14 WAR or so.

Are you claiming that as best all time?

You can toss any of his 2001-2004 seasons into a hat and pick one. Really hard to pick a bad one. The 73 homers do jump off the page in 2001. According to wRC+, his 2002 season was actually the best of the lot.
