      Re: MLB Off-Topic

I just went to my activity log on Facebook and typed in any sort of racial or homophobic slur I may have accidentally posted on there. None to speak of. Sounds like me.

I did however have four posts/comments containing F-bombs and six containing S-bombs, so I deleted all but one of them. I don't want cursing to resurface on my social media when those words become taboo and I am a famous individual.

I was hearing Damon Bruce talk about the Hader thing and was stating that the only thing that has saved his career is that social media wasn't around when he was in high school. This may be true, but now kids speak without a filter. I know the Internet has sort of caused that in the first place.

For Newcomb though, once again one of them are (c)rap lyrics. I'll have to check the other ones to know if I can determine their origin.

They should get guys to do that, or tell their agents to look into that.

Or if I'm a PR/Social Media person for a team, I'm spending my day searching up things about every single player to see if they got any kind of offensive tweets. Especially cause they're social media people, it means they likely have a paid plan on one of these online services for social media accounts, so they could look up these types of tweets much easier than just a regular twitter search(though even a basic twitter search finds alot).

That alone would make them earn their pay. Guys probably might not even think they had offensive tweets, then if they see a list of tweets compiled by someone internally, it would allow them to delete it before anyone else gets word on it. For all we know, that has happened in numerous teams/sports already, which proves how internal digging would be working since we don't know about it.

Sure dislike the guy for being a tool and digging up things from the past, but that doesn't absolve the person that posted it. Newcombe isn't a victim

These social media posts are like steroids: things from the past will resurface where we'll find out everyone in the league is guilty of it.

Yea lets send him to sensitivity training and talk about our feelings. This world is stupid. Apparently fb and Twitter posts are now representative of who you really are.

Just like Hader. Dude said some stupid things. But was it truly reflective of who he is? His teammates had his back 100 percent. Now if he was an intolerant racist then I believe someone would have let it be known.

                This is all bull.

And the guys Twitter handle that leaked Newcombs immature tweets is a salty Nationals fan. Guess this is what we have come to.

I guarantee you this is gonna become an epidemic. Rival fans are probably right now trying to find offensive tweets from players on teams they don't like. Or just because the wear that uniform.

                  Get the popcorn ready.

He would have been 18-19 when those tweets went out. Tired of people digging up stuff and expecting/demanding action be taken. Spend your time and emotions on things that actually matter.

I don't disagree with this at all. Never have, never will. It's really easy to refrain (or to be either a better and/or less moronic individual).

I don't know man have you ever been a teenager? You change quite a bit when you reach your twenties. I sure have.

Asking people to apologize for something they said in their teens? That's just stupid.

I'm 22 years old. I'm not that far off from the age he was when he made those tweets. Three or four years ago I wouldn't have been making homophobic or racial slurs, so I find it hard to excuse his behavior. At 18 or 19, you should know better than to say stupid ****. It would be different if he made those tweets as a 13 year old.

You were never disciplined for anything you did in your teenage years? You say stupid **** to the wrong people and you get consequences. Social media consequences work this way. It may not be immediate, but they'll find you if someone cares enough.
