I think his reaction would be that it's the right move to help the team. Cutch is not a good CF anymore, but I bet he'll be a great RF. Dale Murphy did this coming off a GG season in 1987...he actually hadn't been good in CF for a while, but he was a good RF once he moved over there.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
What the **** is wrong with a baseball tournament instead of spring training trash?
The WBC is awesome and the more truly competitive baseball we get the earlier we can get it the better. The games are fun, the atmosphere is fun, and we get to see players we don't normally get to see. Thank God the tournament allows us to bridge the gap to Opening Day even a little bit.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
I would be all for it if the best players truly played...instead they don't. I have tried to get into it...don't get me wrong, it's baseball so I watch, but it can't touch the real MLB season for me. I get more pleasure from watching some of the kids play in ST, trying to make a ball club, than I do watching some washed up 35 year old pitcher who has played in some independent league. That's all...

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Here's a list of every major and minor leaguer in the WBC. Read this and tell me again that the best players aren't playing. Because I'm pretty sure I saw names like Miggy, Arenado, King Felix, Delin Betances, Robby Cano, Nelson Cruz, Paul Goldschmidt, Russell Martin, Giancarlo, Cutch, and many more I haven't listed.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Uh, have you seen the Team USA roster this year? While it isn't the best at every single position it's pretty damn nearly an all-star team. The other countries take it pretty seriously (have been since the beginning really) and they attract a lot of their best players.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
If that's the case, that's great. I honestly haven't paid attention to this year's roster because I've written off the WBC...the last several times I've watched the team USA roster was pretty poor. Look, I don't have to like the tourney and it doesn't have to effect anyone else's viewing of it. Heck, maybe this year I'll get into it and enjoy it; I'm just stating that each year since 2006 I've greeted this thing with an eye roll.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I like intentional walks. It doesn't happen often and I think it adds a bit of drama, especially late in playoff games. I like feeling the tension mount even more as each pitch is thrown, waiting for the next batter to come in during a tight spot. Tension is good. I don't like binge-watching shows for the same reason. I like big moments to sink in instead of just flipping the page.
My main thing is always, if you wanna play faster, then work faster. If you want to take your time, then take your time. Teams and players can and should have identities. Going "no huddle", dragging things out a bit to wear down hitters, etc. Of course, I was blessed with growing up watching players (especially pitchers) that were all about efficiency. Nobody had to put anything artificial in place for them to work swiftly. And that's the way it should be.
I'll say it again, too. If more of these media members and perpetual bitchers all the way up to our loser commissioner were focused on talking about how special the current talent in this league is instead of nitpicking and mocking game times and pace and all the other crap, the sport would be better off.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 02-08-2017, 07:00 PM.Comment
