Re: MLB Off-Topic
Maybe I'm missing what you are looking for, MLB.tv is the streaming service I was referring to. They are all the same company.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
It's only available from one provider in Ontario; Rogers.
But some people don't have access to Rogers. So we're screwed.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Boooooo. Booooooooooo. Booooooooooooooooooooooo.
Don't mind me; I'm just reacting to the death of throwing 4 wide ones for an intentional walk. Hopefully the 'signal' given from the dugout can at least be entertaining, like a manager doing Gangnam Style or something.
Kind of stupid that Manfred had a tantrum about the union not agreeing to anything, then we find out on the same day--oh wait--they actually did agree to a rule change. This one. Duhhhh
Manfred appears to be turning to the dark side and he'll reach full sith lord if he tries to push the runner-on-2nd-to-begin-extras rule through. What better way to kill the integrity of an extra inning game?Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Manfred was Selig's right hand man, basically groomed and then handpicked. You don't have to wait for him to turn to the dark side, he was born in it.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Can't they just leave the game alone? Baseball is baseball. Stop trying to speed it up and alter it. What difference does eliminating the need to throw 4 pitches in order to issue an intentional walk make? How much time does it save? Let's be honest, barely any. Such little time that the amount of time it saves is irrelevant.
Baseball wasn't meant to be a really fast sport. You either like baseball or you don't. Making a game go by slightly faster won't really change that. If these crazy changes like starting with a runner on 2nd in extra innings actually end up happening my interest in baseball will probably decrease and I love MLB. They better be smart with these rule changes, they might gain interest from the younger crowd but they will also push away current fans in the process.
You know what they should really do if they want to speed things up? Eliminate commercials/ads. Obviously that would never happen. If they want to speed things up do that. If not leave the game alone.Comment

The only way to get rid of commercials in baseball is to eliminate any form of a pitcher warming up for the inning.
If you've played, you would know that isn't realistic.
Baseball literally is the only sport that fills what would already be dead air time with commercials. It takes up no time that could go to action.Comment

The funny part, he even acknowledged those things in the past as time wasters. So clearly it's been talked about but for whatever reason nothing happens.
It doesn't cost MLB anything since there's no commercials that air during these breaks, and it doesn't impact the game itself since you're not messing with gameplay itself.Comment
