Why even bring in Boehringer in a tie ballgame? The guy should only be used in games where the Pirates are up by a ton or down by a ton. For whatever reason, Mac still thinks this guy can pitch...

PS - Gonzalez has to stay in the minors for 10 days before the Pirates are able to call him back up.

Yea that sucks that the Pirates have to wait 10 days before they can get him back. I would have much rather seen Mateo go on the DL then send down Gonzalez.

My question is if you can bring in Torres when your down 4-1, why can't you bring him in if the game is tied? Why is Boehringer out there, get anybody else but him.

EDIT: Of course as soon as Johnston hits someone he gets ejected, but the Pirates have been hit every game this series. Zambrano didn't get tossed after htting someone after the warning. I'm glad Mac gave the umpire a really good chewing out.

Yeah that was the biggest bunch of BS I've ever seen. That ump should be fined for that. When Mac was still on the bench and the crew chief came over, I thought he was apologizing for the terrible call by his home plate umpire. I guess he told Mac to leave the park.

How about Abe coming in throwing some 85 MPH gas and getting the last out of the 9th? Gotta love that!!! At least I got a laugh out of that because I was steemed when the ump ejected Johnston.

Tough loss today. Bullpen really blew it, specifically Boehringer, but on the bright side Sean Burnett did pitch a good game. He got his self out of a couple jams and only gave up one run. His pitch count was a little high for only 5 innings but other than that he had a good first outing.

Benson gets the ball tommorrow against the Cardinals and it's just about time that Benson starts to pitch well. Contending teams are going to need another arm and it's well know Benson is on the market. If we want anything at all in return he's gotta start to pitch well and get some movement on his pitches because right now their not doing anything.

And finally if we can't trade Benson we should try to trade Nunez. I didn't realize how much he could do. He can play most of the infield, he's the emergency catcher and he can pitch too! I'm starting to see why Mac likes him so much. I still wouldn't play him as much as Mac does but I can see why he's valuable to keep on the team.
