There's nothing like watching an angry pitcher hit a ball out of the park and flip the bat.

    AL fans, you're missing out.

Phils competitive even in losses to the Dodgers. Dom Brown laces a 1 out laser snared by Gonzalez, doubling up Howard. Damn lucky.

Completely derelict set of wins, but whatever.

And having to bring in Jansen in a 4 run game means he might not be available tomorrow. Good job, bullpen.

I would say the Donaldson trade was a combination of status quo operations and the chafing between him, Beane and the manager. (his name is escaping me AHH!) It's probably why the A's didn't get nearly as much in return as they would have if Beane was being completely analytical without any emotion like he usually does things.
I don't ever remember any issues between Melvin and Donaldson.

Wasn't there an issue with Donaldson feeling like he was being ridden too hard and asking for days off but Melvin wouldn't give it to him?

Eh, either way it's all in the past.

Pretty sure all the talk of bickering was BS, or at the very least it wasn't the cause of his departure. Donaldson was getting too good and too marketable for the A's to not to trade him. Any time a player starts reaching that status, the A's start looking for teams to give up prospects for his services. Surprised they kept Cespedes as long as they did.

E-Rod with a nice debut, too bad he can't get any run support

Are you talking about Eduardo Rodriguez??? Because he made his debut a couple of months ago.

Oh that. I remember now. Allegedly, JD and Beane got into it over Josh asking for some consecutive days off to heal some bumps and bruises. Allegedly (both parties have denied it even happened) this argument happened sometime before the all star break and the trade happened in November so that's quite some time to cool off. After the trade even JD said if that argument did ever happen it still wouldn't be in Beane's character to let the human element effect his business practices. Beane always takes out the human element and doesn't let it effect trades.

The bottom line is Toronto didn't get him simply because the A's didn't want him. That's crazy talk.

I completely agree with you on the bolded part. Beane is always looking to unload guys at their peak value for younger guys who he can control longer and save money on.

Yea, if you look at his track record he has done a fantastic job with a majority of his trades (no GM is immune to the wrong move).

People forget his trades because he makes such impact trades that no one can fathom which don't show their fruition until years later.

If I was a member on this site when Zito, Mulder and Holliday were traded I probably would have been banned.
