On the Walker-Niese trade: Great get by the Mets. I love Walker, and the Mets get their 2B.
I'll be honest.....if Niese for Walker was a possibility....I don't know why the Mets even considered offering a 4 year deal to Zobrist.
I realize he's a super-utility guy with a good position(2B), but I'm fairly certain the Mets were going with just 2B for him....
IMO...this just makes more sense for the Mets.....1 year of Walker at 2B, a younger player and one who I think plays a better second base.
If it was just 1 year for either......I'd probably go with Zo and his better offense(albeit less power)...but.....

If Collins finally realizes that Wright just cannot bat #2(Zo would have be PERFECT there).....and they drop him to 6 or 7 then fine....but it would mean a lot of things have to fall into place for the offense.

    I guess we'll see.

And with the Giles trade very, very close, this evening looks like it might get good...
You have a link on Shawn Kelley? Haven't seen it confirmed anywhere.

Hope we at least get a position player in this Giles deal, but it sounds like it is shaping up to be a winner.

Sounds like just three arms, but one top one with two middle ones. Should be a solid deal.

I don't like this Wilson trade at all, the bullpen is getting whittled away. It was the only ironclad part of the team. He was not just a lefty specialist, he could handle both sides of the plate.

Derek Fisher. Not Brian. He is a 22 year old outfielder. I like getting Velasquez. Oberholtzer is a nice option for depth or the 5th starter if the Phillies don't get another starter in free agency.

Derek Fisher hit .275 with 22 home runs, 87 RBI, 21 doubles, 8 triples and 31 stolen bases in 2015 between A and A+ ball. Also had an .847 OPS.

Vinny Velazquez is a guy in super high on. Oby is gonna be a solid back end guy for the rotation. Don't know what you were expecting, as there was no way in hell they'd get what SD got for Kimbrel.
