Sox bullpen will be greatly improved. Would feel a whole lot better headed into the year with a #2 starter.

Per Jon Heyman, Zobrist decision possible by week's end. Nats, mets, giants, maybe dodgers wait with interest.Comment

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
OK I was exaggerating a little but it's close. He asked the DBacks for Pollock and Blair for Miller and Vizcaino. And asked the Dodgers for Joc Pederson and Cubs for Soler. The Braves have shown no sign of backing down on their asking price.
And after that came out: Atlanta is asking both for a young, “impact bat” (Moncada/Benintendi) as well as a “Major League-ready starting pitcher” (Eduardo Rodriguez) in trade talks, per the report.Comment

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
I could easily see the Mets just sitting on the sidelines this off season and going with their current squad......seeing if once again they could use their pitching to hang in until the trade deadline and then try and move one of the young aces for a legit hitter.
I don't like that strategy....and it's not going to work IMO, but I could see it happening.
Don't forget...this is the Coupons who own the Mets.

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
Marlins said to be seeking "5 or 6" great young players in trade for Jose, one gm says. Many MLB ready too. Per Jon Heyman
Edit: Tigers GM Al Avila tells Detroit reporters that they are out of Cespedes and Alex Gordon talks. Per Bob NightengaleLast edited by redsox4evur; 12-07-2015, 05:07 PM.Comment

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
Just to put it in perspective, 5 or 6 "great young players" in a package from the Cubs would look like Soler + Baez or Schwarber then any three or four of Gleyber Torres, Billy McKinney, Albert Almora, Willson Contreras, Duane Underwood, or Eloy Jimenez. Lol no thank you
The Marlins are doing what they should be, asking for a franchise-altering return for a guy who, even with the injury history, has a great deal of upside in the future. Who knows, maybe there's a team out there that bites.Comment

Kris Bryant and Maikel Franco have filed service time grievances against the Cubs and Phillies respectively. Service time manipulation they say.

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
I like the Mark Lowe signing, they were probably bidding against a team offering 4-4.5 M AAV over 3 years. Need another lefty in the bullpen as well.Comment
