Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Perhaps you overstated his talent? The lack of success with the Yankees is maybe more indicative of his data size growing and proving his early-year successes a bit outside his norm.
Also, I wouldn't rule out the Yankees on that King's Ransom for Sale. Of course, their prospects don't work out very often so I'd probably say no if I was CHW in that situation too.Comment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
All joking aside Pinata lost important development years due to his unfortunate injuries.
He hasn't been all bad. And he's been solid as of late. Threw a shutout his last start actually.
But he's ultimately been a disappointment. He struggles with his command and gets frustrated on the mound.
It sucks too, because he has great pure stuff and when he's really on, he's ace like. I still haven't completely given up on him but the clock is ticking.

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
My best guess for the Sale rumor is that it was the Dodgers. With the news that Kershaw may need surgery, and an obvious immediate need for pitchers, and the fact that they're "big deal hunting", I think they are the 'favorite' to be the mystery team. My guess is they offered up Urias/De Leon (or maybe both) + Pederson/Verdugo +. Maybe not both Urias and De Leon, though as the offer obviously wasn't good enough for the White Sox to acceptChicago Cubs
Michigan Wolverines

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
I'd love to hear how the Yankees ruined him seeing as he's never been healthier than he has been with NY.

Why in the world would the Yankees be trying to trade for Sale?Comment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
I could definitely see the Red Sox in on Sale, they certainly have the prospects, and the addition of Sale would likely put them over the top in the AL.

I'd rather not unless they take Pablo Sandoval as well in this mega package, which would never happen...we just need a left handed reliever and all is fine.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
At this point of the season a starting pitcher who plays once every five games isn't going to be what a team needs to jump five other teams and contend with how many others.
Selling the farm for a player regardless of team control at this point of the season as a long shot is foolish.Comment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
So it was the Dodgers that offered up the "kings ransom" for Chris Sale. They also made an offer for Jose Quintana. Shortly after that Rick Hahn came out and said they have to be open to all possibilities. Even though the deal didn't go through I think both teams will continue talking. Urias wasn't in either deal in case anyone was wondering.Comment
