Oh god I missed this. I just posted in the trade discussion thread, my estimate is that they're losing somewhere around $200 million in value. And that doesn't account for the rarity of a guy like Trout or the value loss of not getting premium assets in lieu of shedding Pujols' contract.

You might need to reconsider the way you evaluate trades

He's got some pop though, and we got him for two guys we grabbed off the scrap heap not long ago. I'm good with this.

Any good lefty relievers people see could be available?

Fernando Abad and Marc Rzepczynski are the 2 main ones I hope are available at the deadline. If either could be had for cheap, I'd definitely go after them. Anyones better than Cecil, but if Jays could get one of those guys to replace him, then regardless if Sanchez moves to bullpen or not, the bullpen looks like they'd be in way better shape for the playoff push.

Well, I didn't consider the contracts. But I think if you switch a couple guys out it could work. Still hurts to this day that the M's basically traded Griffey for Mike Cameron straight up and Griffey >>> Trout. So if Red Sox add a couple of their untouchables I think LAA would consider.

Also, I love how 2 years ago Red Sox fans were all high on Pablo and bashing the M's for signing Seager to a 6 year $100MM contract. Someone said and I quote...

"We got Pablo for 7 years $120MM, and the Mariners signed their 3B who no one ever heard of to a 6 year $100MM deal ROFL."

Safe to say that backfired and Seager is one of the better bargains in baseball.

Abad is for sure available. Problem is, Twins don't have a GM.

A 30+ year old reliever, even with no GM, I'd think they'd still want to move him. Not like he'd have any purpose on the worst team in the AL.

Hmmm...Not so sure we can say that. When it's all said and done, Trout could be >>>>> Griffey Jr.

Trout has accumulated 44.5 fWAR thru age 25 (he turns 25 in about a week).

Griffey had 34.9 fWAR thru the same age.

So Trout has a head start and Griffey has the headwinds of a brutal, brutal finish to an otherwise great career holding him back. Griffey's final 8-10 seasons were basically worthless.

Trout will never be the HR hitter that Griffey Jr. was (probably), but there are very few players in history that I'm comfortable saying that they're >>> Trout.

Orioles working hard to acquire Andrew Cashner. Marlins and Rangers appear to be front runners.

No surprise but the Cardinals have been looking for back of the bullpen help. Have inquired on Joe Smith.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Jackie might be streaky, but he is having an amazing 2016 regardless. With the stick, and the glove I'm not sure if there are too many other CF in the game that are on his 2016 level.

                                Interesting.

Royals are trying to package Ian Kennedy with Wade Davis. It'll make the package worth less, but they'll get rid of some meh weight...though not sure who will bite, even the Dodgers are hesitant.
