I think they had to do it. Would you rather face Donaldson with nobody on 1st,winning run at 3rd,and 1 out. Or EE with bases loaded 1 out?

Cause in EE at bat, at least you had a shot of either double play to end inning, or force out at home. Donaldson, even a ground ball to a fielder could've won the game.

And that EE at bat, it was a ground ball. Different defensive positioning, and could've just been a routine double play instead of game winning hit.

Either way, Jays win! Not too exciting game from inning 1-7, but 8th onwards was great. Sucks though that back to back great starting performances don't lead to the starter getting a win, but obviously they won't care since the team still won.

Red Sox set record for most k's in a game with 21 in 9 innings and 23 in 10 innings. And record for most consecutive k's with 11.

I'm praying that this is the Red Sox peaking too early and not them suddenly coming together to kill everyone in the postseason.

Based on quick calculations, the season hopefully ends when the streak hits 28.

The Dodgers win the NL West with a walk-off home run in Vin Scully's final game at Dodger Stadium. Not a bad swan song.

BTW - I meant to post this a day or so ago and forgot. Corey Seager has posted a 40 2B, 25 HR season as a rookie. The last player to do so? I guy named Pujols back in 2001...I think that worked out okay.

One of the most gut-wrenching, emotional days in quite a while. A range of emotions that can't even be expressed.

I'm watching the Cubs game, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue. Really tough day for baseball.

Cubs are so good...from top to bottom, lineup, rotation, bullpen, bench. They are a machine...the only thing that will stop them in the post-season is themselves. I have to say, a Red Sox/Cubs matchup would be epic (even more so if 2004, 2007, and 2013 hadn't happened!).
