I forgot to add but apparently it's supposed to rain all weekend in Boston. Those two may have to play in some real bad weather if they want to get these games in.

Technically the coaches can't challenge after the 7th inning. They can only suggest to the umpires that they should look at it. It's up to the umpires to decide to look at it or not. In my mind, it's all on the umpires to decide that the play should've been reviewed.

Right. Nevertheless, why didn't they suggest it? The dugout view I saw was everybody heading to the clubhouse.

Yeah I don't know. I guess there is some rule where they only have 10 seconds. I'm not sure how long the umps were hanging around after they made the call. I wonder if the Reds protested after the game.

Price did try and ask for a review about 20 seconds after the game ended (the video shows him running after the umps), but it was ruled that he didn't ask for it "immediately".

Sunday looks good though, so maybe a doubleheader? Though that completely messes up MLBs whole "every team plays at exact same time" scheduling.

This is baseball hell.

Playing a series against a team I hate where if we win we will be helping another team I hate.

We're not too thrilled about having to cheer on the Yankees either, but at least they don't gain anything by winning lol. Go and sweep the O's!

I think what we have here is an infraction against the spirit of the replay system, even if not the letter of the policy. Bottom line is waiting 10 or 20 seconds for an end of game review should not matter. It's totally ridiculous to parse an end of game situation like that when umps waste plenty more time reviewing seemingly 1 out of every 10 plays at first base anyway, taking a lot longer than 10 seconds in doing so, and still getting plenty of reviewed calls wrong to boot.

This replay system needs a lot of work and the entire reason it was implemented is so games couldn't end in controversial fashion. Oy..

I'm not disagreeing...the entire thing is a joke. First off, how do the umps even miss it in REAL time, let alone not check it on the replay. Secondly, how does the system not have someone removed from the field who can say "hold up, we may have missed something...let's check it". Oh well...not the first time in baseball a team has won a game on a bad call and won't be the last.

If you're going to have replay, why have all these stupid rules surrounding it? It's asinine.

Have someone watching every game. If they see a play the umps should look at, tell them to look at it. Or better yet, just tell them what the correct call is since they all seem to want to make replays into the ****ing ump show too. Getting it wrong way more often than they should.

I'll never understand this.

How do you take Estrada out after 5 innings! I don't care how many pitches he's thrown. What's the matter, he might be tired for his next start.....in March!?! And putting in a bullpen that has struggled a lot lately. And these hitters act like it's no big deal that they suddenly can't hit and cash in runs anymore.

This team is just getting sad to watch. Go from leading division to out of playoffs......just an embarrassing choke job of a collapse. Good luck even selling half the stadium out with premium ticket pricing increase and half the team not returning.....
