Cards win and Rockies lose again. 2 1/2 games behind the Rockies for the 2nd wildcard

Sale becomes the 2nd Red Sox pitcher to throw 300 strikeouts.

      The other was 1999 Pedro.

191 of his strikeouts have come on the road, most by any pitcher since 1913.

3rd night in a row the Phillies have come back late against the Dodgers. Going for the 4 game sweep tomorrow! Odubel Herrera with a hell of a catch to end it!

This has been a completely different team in August/September. So much fun to watch and winning games!

A toddler got hit with a foul ball sitting in lower level seats behind the visiting dugout at Yankee Stadium.

Apparently she's going to be okay, but that broke my heart to hear.

Thank you for hearing my plea, Pittsburgh. And for knocking off Milwaukee tonight in comeback fashion. Shave one more off the old magic number despite a Cubs whuppin at the hands of TB. Lead remains at 3.5 games.

Angels can't take advantage of the Twins getting worked by the Yankees. Smh. I know they're facing Cleveland but have to win at least one of the three games.

HUGE series this weekend between the Cubs and Brewers. The Brewers have to hope their success against the Cubbies carries through and they can sweep or at least take 3 out of 4.

Even if the Twins manage to hold on and "make the playoffs", they'll likely have to play the Yankees. That's worked out great in the past....

Ya, I was hoping they'd put up a better showing in this recent series, but it didn't happen. Would be poetic justice if they met NY in the WC game and won on a controversial call...

As a big Rangers fan, I've eliminated us from postseason contention about 10 times already this season. Yet, here we are just 2 games back of the Twins in the loss column. Haha. The teams ahead of us (Yankees aside) haven't done enough to eliminate us yet. Crazy.

If we make the playoffs, it'll be a complete bonus and surprise. And likely a one-game trip in the spotlight before we head home for the offseason.

Didn't happen...big sweep at this point in the season. The bats just are silent outside of Trouts. When Phillips/Upton are off, they swing at everything.

Kyle gets the I-94 series festivities going with a Schwar-Bomb in the 2nd inning off Davies.

If there was ever an argument against every player on the expanded roster being available, what just happened in the Nats/Braves game is it. The Nationals made so many double switches that the manager, the players, and the umpires had no idea what was going on. It took over 10 minutes to sort the entire thing out when they took the field...I've never seen that before.

Cubs-Brewers 2-2 bottom 7th, bases loaded for Ryan Braun. This feels like a season-turning moment...

EDIT: Strop gets Braun to hit a rocket right at Baez to escape the inning. The next 2+ innings will decide between a 4.5 game lead and a 2.5 game lead.
