Jose Ramirez said he has had shoulder tightness since spring training. Nice to see he has an excuse for 5 walks over this last 1.1 innings.

That's quite the statement but you may be right.
BTW who here honestly thought the Red Sox would be steamrolling everybody the way they have been this year? This is a bit of an "out of the blue" start for this team.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I know that I created that post when the strikeout was more frowned upon than it has been this year and late last year, but putting the ball in play can potentially lead to that base hit. Its success rate is less than that of 50% for sure, so maybe the modernists have a good point that the traditionalists need to account for.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Well I was being snarky for sure but I actually think putting the ball in play is better than whiffing at the plate especially when you have a situation where moving the runner over or a well executed sac fly can do more than just striking out would.
Actually, to your point though in one of the KC/TOR games yesterday the Royals had overshifted a bit and there were 4 straight singles by the Jays that just beat the shift whereby if they had stayed in their traditional positions would've most likely led to outs. That kind of goes to the whole shift/no shift argument but still it shows that if you can get the ball in play in the right area things can happen that wouldn't with the strikeout.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 4/9 - 4/22 Game Discussion Thread
For anyone who hasn't seen what the Facebook games look like, this picture is how it is. Guess they're trying to make it a more interactive type of broadcast. And no commercials, but they do show the between inning clock.
Something I wouldn't mind is if they make things like this like video games. Allow fans to choose which cameras they watch the game from, ability to mute one or more commentators and things like that. Not just for MLB, but all sports. One thing I don't like about this though is that you can't go back and watch something that just happened.
After awhile, I wonder what we'll see with the viewer numbers. FB viewers will be different than TV ones, but it also allows for FB to be more marketable instead of just caring about US TV ratings and that type of stuff. Phillies/Mets and Brewers/Cards both got around 4.5M total views, so will be interesting to see where this Jays-Royals game ends up. Seeing number in the 60,000s for LIVE viewers, but total viewers obviously will be 6 if not 7 figures.Attached FilesLast edited by Majingir; 04-18-2018, 04:56 PM.Comment

The live numbers are likely the most useful, and I'm sure a lot of those people had the sound off.Last edited by dubcity; 04-18-2018, 05:36 PM.Comment
