Giants draw first blood. Lead the Dodgers 1-0 early.

      Haha!!

Nick Castellanos really sucks on defense. He gets the assist on Ryan Braun's tiebreaking homer.

EDIT: Brewers hold on. Cubs' magic number remains at 2.

Dodgers win which means the best Cardinals can do is a one game playoff to get into the playoffs. And to that they would have to take the final two from the Cubs and the Dodgers would have to lose their final two against the Giants.

I looks extremely bleak but I’m still holding on to the last string I have

        Let’s get’em today boys!

Better check Braun's bat for roids, 4 HR's over the past week.

Come on Cards, the nation is rooting for you and behind you.(except for Cub nation)

Jays future manager under our noses all along?

For their season finale, their manager will be........ Russell Martin?!

That's actually happening. Sounds like the ultimate Gibbons way to go out.

Martin is making 20m next year, why not put that money to good use lol

That was an unbelievably ugly play.

Currently he's at .249 for this season. If he plays the last three games and goes 1 for 4 in each he'll achieve .247 again.
Cool stat, but I think the math is off.

If he's at .249 now and he hits .250 (3-12) over the next three games, how does his average drop two points?

Len Kasper looks so 'corporate' when doing these national FOX broadcasts.

Also gotta hope the Cubs lining into all these double plays is a prelude to slapping Cards' pitching around a bit more.

FanGraphs says he's at .247 right now. So, time to wrap him in bubble wrap and save him for the playoffs.

He's actually been slumping since the ASB...257/325/369 slash line in the 2nd half. It's always amazing to me how over 162 games players end up being who they are (for the most part). A guy can have a super hot 1st half and he'll cool off or a vice versa, but they almost always (ignoring injuries) turn into what their career says they are.

A frustrating day of warning track fly outs batted back by the wind and line drive double plays for the Cubs. They've struggled against Mikolas all season.

this was the game i was worried about and they got really bad luck on 3 Warning track shots that are gone on any other day.

now with a must win game they turn to Mike Montgomery and are in danger of being in the 1 game playoff. Joe better have the quickest hook he's ever had.

Yankees have broken the all time hr record in a season.

Insane when you consider Judge and Sanchez among others missed considerable time on the dl.
