That's not why. LA is slashing payroll. They aren't really spending because of Trevor Bauer. If he wins his court case (Which it looks like he will) The Dodgers may possibly owe him back pay of more that $100M. They are in a holding pattern basically. That would put them well over the Luxury Tax Threshold if they have to pay that out.

It's the big reason they are going to let some of the young guys play this year.

Oh I know, but that narrative is false. There are other reasons behind it. They just need to decide if they are willing to go over the Luxury Tax while in limbo.

should never have swapped him for Gio in the first place, I know they had to to get rid of Sanchez but that trade didn't work and in the end those 2 players were useless when it mattered and were better off with Sanchez and Gio
