Smart move by the Sox. Now we don't have to worry about the staus of Crisp for quite some time. Now we just need to get him in the lineup.

After the start Beckett has had, I wonder if an extension for him is coming soon?

The Red Sox had Crisp under their control anyways, they are probably just paying him about what he would get in arbitration so neither side would have to worry about his status.

I'd imagine Beckett is their next priority. He's controlled through 2007, so if possible it would be good to extend him this year and not even let him come close to free agency. He seems like the type of guy who prefers an environment like Boston, so I can definitely see it happening.

        Papelbon is talking on ESPNNews....

mentioned he and Foulke have a very good relationship, and Foulke talked to him after Tito told them both Paps was getting the save chance.

I honestly don't think Foulke cares when and where he pitches so this isn't surprising.

Another note, Riske was put on the 15 day DL to make room for Wells.

Yeah...he doesn't seem to mind pitching in the set-up role, which is a very good thing.

And Papelbon is a big Wells fan, it seems. Wells has helped him out quite a bit...as long as Paps doesn't start throwing 'em back with Boomer, it's all good.

I wish I had caught Paps on ESPNnews, haven't really seen him give any interviews yet.

Did anyone get the WS ring ceremony dvd NESN put out, if so how is it? I sort of lucked out today while at the mall the Suncoast was closing down and had 70% off everything so I picked it up for $5 regularly $17.

                  woooo....what a throw by A-Gon

And Wells continues to have a very successful first inning.

May I also add that Wells's pitches are flatter than the Olsen twins...

Seeing Wells struggle like this isn't much of a surprise. He looked pretty bad in his minor league starts.

It's now making sense the reason why Riske was put on the dl (if he isn't truly hurt) instead of sending Dinardo down... Lenny might be needed in this game if Boomer keeps this up.

I think they only had him under their control for next season and the year after.

I bet they want to make sure Beckett's shoulder is fine before locking him up long term.

Boomer doesn't look too good, that's what I expected though. I wouldn't worry about Wells though, not unless he strings together 3 or 4 outings like this.

Wily Mo had a nice at-bat there.

About what I expected from Wells. Would be nice to get another couple innings out of him.

Wily Mo did look pretty good on that at bat. I was expecting the K after he hit that laser beam foul, but he did a good job making contact and going to the opposite field.
