Re: The 2009 New York Yankees

I can see Wang being effective coming out of the pen. Maybe a heavier workload out of the pen can make his sinker actually sink again. Either way he needs to earn his way back into the rotation after his brutal performances earlier this year, which I'm not entirely convinced was due to some mysterious injury. For the meantime he can play the part of Ramiro Mendoza.

Matsui looks so lost out there. He's swinging at pitches above his shoulders, sliders in the dirt, etc. I'd keep him batting seventh for the time being and I love Cano moving up in the order. He'll be seeing much better pitches to hit up there than having Cervelli protecting him in the lineup.

I hope Nady comes back and is healthy. I don't know how much of Nick Swisher's "swinging for 500 ft home runs with two strikes" I can take anymore.

      1. Nice win

      2. Finally a good start from Burnett

      3. Veras sucks

      4. Robertson is good, not sure why he was sent down in the first place.

      5. Positive outing from Wang, though his velocity still isn't there, his sinker did show good movement.

      6. Tied for first!

Glad to see Burnett finally have a good start.

Also how much longer does Jose Veras have to suck for him to get DFA'd? Just get rid of him and Berroa and call up Melancon and another bat from AAA.

agreed with everything you guys said, veras is the absolute worst. wang looked good, burnett was great, nice win. Love teixeira man. Boston and yanks are getting it goin now baby, toronto is fading and i really dont think personally that the rays will get it goin. They'll be right around 500 team this year with the jays, i said it earlier in the preseason so we'll see. But yanks and sox gonna be a good battle

The team is definitely rolling right now, I can't believe Tex is almost hitting .280 already.

It will be interesting to see how the Joba/Wang/Hughes thing plays out for the rest of the season. I think our ideal situation to be the best team we can be this year is to have Wang and Hughes in the rotation and Joba back in the pen. Joba throwing 90-110 pitches in 4-6 innings each outing isn't helping this team.

                Aceves has been huge.

                Alone in first place.

I turned off the game just as he got in. I guess Girardi felt confident that even he couldn't blow a 7 run lead. Hopefully he gets DFA'd for Melancon soon enough.

so let's not send gardner in the 8th. to eliminate the double play that posada eventually hit into. instead of making it 2nd and 3rd 1 out lets leeave the double play ball open for them. really good managing right there

Apparently Gardner had the steal sign and he ignored it because he didn't think he could get a good jump. So that one is on Gardner.

I am loving this team, "Consistency" is the best word that comes to mind when I think about this team. And I love how great the chemistry is with this team, they are just having fun.

Fantastic win by Joba last night, He had hitters flailing away on that nasty curveball all night, and he kept his pitch count low and was able to go deep into the game, It's gotta be hard to pitch in that gotdamn zoo in Cleveland.

Now we are back in our launching pad, Should be a great series with these too powerful teams. Expect to hear alot of "see ya's"

I am LOVING...the play of Tex right now. Yesterday his slide to break-up that A-Rod potential DP was out F'N standing.... That's exactly how you get back @ the other team when they plunk you.

AJ, also gets much props for throwing inside on Cruz. Right now were looking real good. Can you say BEST record in the AL

Our pitching has also been solid. Both starters & relievers. Wang looks like he's just about ready to return to the rotation. We are about 100% healthy *keeps fingers crossed* which is important right now because we have a stretch of 12 straight games all against good teams:

Rangers, TB, Boston & the Mutts...
