I guess CC is ok. Total domination.

Bats have come alive. A-Rod looks like he's in the beginning of going on a tear. Gardner has taken the starting CF spot back. Huge game.

He was huge. Tex is slumping a little though...hopefully he and A-Rod can get hot at the same time

        Burnett was dealing tonight.

Hopefully Wang pitches well enough tomorrow for us to get the sweep. We shouldn't have too much of a problem hitting Livan Hernandez.

Burnett has looked really good in his last few starts. If he heats up like he did last season in Toronto, he and CC will make the Yanks a difficult team to beat

I like this move for Hinske. He's got a little bit of pop and can play a little 3rd base to spell Arod, and can spell either Damon (who is starting to look REALLY old and slow) or Swisher in the outfield.

Good trade, but I'd rather he replace Ransom, sounds like he's replacing Pena.

Good trade. He becomes our best bat off the bench and I doubt either of the 2 minor leaguers turns out to be a major leaguer. The Pirates sure do love our farm system though. They have Tabata, Ohlendorf, Karstens, Dan McCutchen, Steven Jackson, Eric Hacker, and now Erickson and Fryer.

They're optioning Pena to AAA so he can get regular playing time. He hasn't really played much recently now that Ransom's back so I'm fine with the move.

                    Another strong start by Burnett.

This is about the best you'll see the Yankees play (not a negative comment). I know some guys are "slumping" right now, but all 9 won't be hot together.

When ARod was hurt/slumping, Tex was right there to carry the big stick. Now that Tex hasn't really done a whole lot, it's ARod carrying the bat. That's why you get two guys like that: it's not so they can hit at the same time, it's so they can support each other.

Outside of one rough outing last night, the top of the rotation is feeling it with CC and AJ. Pettitte is handling business as the vet. Wang is beginning to find his groove. And Chamberlain is finally getting past the sixth inning.

Things are looking good in Yankee land.

Not to mention the bullpen has been lights out. Aside from Tomko, I feel confident that all of them can hold the lead. A far cry from the start of the season when Edwar, Veras, Albaladejo and Marte were getting knocked around.

Figures that once Wang was starting to pitch well he would get hurt again. I wonder who they replace him with. Girardi said neither Hughes nor Aceves are stretched out enough to throw 90-100 pitches. I guess you could throw each of them for 3-4 innings in the same game. There's also the possibility of calling Sergio Mitre who's been throwing well in AAA.

I don't understand why Hughes can't start. I don't think his arm's gonna fall off if he pitches 5.
