Re: The 2009 New York Yankees
I tried to attend on Saturday (thank goodness I did not) and was told at the ticket office that all bleacher seats were sold out for the season.
Without even asking she says, "The cheapest available are $150."
I said thank you and left.

Re: The 2009 New York Yankees
I went to the game yesterday too but stayed til the end. Me and my boys were just walking around looking at parts of the stadium from the 6-9th inning.
So what the hell is up with the insane amount of empty seats behind and around home plate. Those are all season ticket holders, correct? Those seats were probably 30% full yesterday and it's been about that for each home game, same story today. And out in the RF seats that wrap in front of the bleachers, how the hell are those half empty today? I figured NY would be excited for the new stadium so I'm kinda puzzled as to why there are 5-6,000 prime empty seats in each game so far.Comment

Re: The 2009 New York Yankees
Even in a good economy, I can't see that many people paying 2000+ per seat for regular season games.
The thing that sucks is when they eventually lower them, they are probably going to raise the bleachers and upper deck to compensate a little. Might even price out the average fan more.
It looks nice, but so far all the things that people fear about new stadiums have come true. Atmosphere sucks, tickets are too expensive, etc. Plus it's way too much of a hitters park.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Yeah, my parents went to the Friday night game and said it was just like the Yanks new stadium. Pretty sad, the atmosphere at both stadiums is gonna blow."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

WTH is Girardi thinking/doing.. CC is all-over the place. The Yanks give him back a 2-run & Girardi sends him out for the 7th. Lead-gone...Comment

Sabathia isn't this bad. He isn't as good as people want to believe. But, he isn't this bad. He's been pretty awful with his control so far this season."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
