Maybe, but that strike out with the bases loaded in the 7th was horrible. The last pitch was above the brim of his cap...

At least Melky can hit the ball out of the infield though.

        True sir.

Evaluating the season so far though, we're a pretty decent 9-6 (.600) which is a 97-win pace -- although I know it's worthless to project wins based on 15 games -- with Wang imploding in every game he's pitched so far, without our best player, A-Rod, and with CC and Tex being relatively cold. I gotta like this teams chances with the emergence of Bruney and the likelihood that Wang will get back on track and our offense will only get better from here.

26 homers in the first 6 games at the stadium, ridiculous.

Melky is still the same old Melky, he's so all or nothing at the plate. He's gonna look horrible at the plate or crush a pitch. Two homers, three K's yesterday. If he gets a mistake right over the middle of the plate then he's fine, if not then he's basically an automatic out. That's what Melky is but while he's hot we've got to ride him especially without A-Rod in the line up.

I like him better off the bench.

To me, a guy that looks at bad as he does when batting needs to be sent out in spurts. It'll make him look like a better player.

I think what Gardner brings to the table is what the Yankees need at the 9th spot. Melky isn't helping them in any area but being below average at everything he does. Gardner at least has his speed.

I really want to see a strong outing from Joba tonight.

I love Gardner off the bench as a pinch runner/defensive replacement. Gardner is definitely the inferior hitter and he can't use his speed if he doesn't get on base. I'd ride the hot hand and start Melky and use Gardner as a super pinch runner.

Is Bruney hurt? Veras went 3+ innings the other day when Bruney was still available and then Joe left Albaladejo in the 8th tonight before pulling him for Rivera on an 0-1 count.

Supposedly getting his elbow checked out in NY according to Waldman but I'm not sure.

Reports out there that Bruney went to NY for a MRI.
Ugh. I hope this isn't serious.

Miranda is on the 40 man so I could see him. Berroa is a possibility also, but they would have to remove someone from the 40 man, probably Claggett.

Also if Bruney's injury is serious, its time to get Melancon up in the big leagues.

Miranda can only play 1st though. We could just stick with Ramiro Pena at third but if an infielder gets injured in the middle of the game we'd be pretty screwed. Although if A-Rod gets back soon maybe we can take the chance for a week.

They'll probably DFA Humberto Sanchez and bring up Angel.
