So I don't have any sound in the feed I'm watching, but they are saying the crowd is absolutely dead?

Yeah the crowd doesn't sound that loud. Probably has to do with the fact that its opening day, so you have more of the celebrity and corporate crowd.

Also Jose Veras sucks. Just DFA him and give Robertson or Melancon his innings.

I like how the crowd started to chant, "BRING IN SWISHER!"

            You guys sucked today!

Hey look, a reliever that throws strikes! I would be a happy man if I never had to see Veras pitch again.

Please tell me I'm not the only one here saying this but, Joba Chamberlain belongs in the pen. Never agreed with the decision of the Yankees trying to mold him into a starter.

A starter who can throw 180 innings is way more valuable than 70 innings from a reliever. It's not like the Yankees don't have people capable of pitching the 8th inning. Bruney has been very effective and Marte, aside from yesterday, has pitched well.

Just don't let Jose Veras pitch in high leverage innings anymore and they'll be fine.

You are completely wrong, but sadly you aren't the only one.

I rest my case! I believe he's more effective out of the pen than as a starter, IMO.

Based off the performance he's dishing out today, I guarantee this will be a growing trend for him if they decide to leave him in the rotation.

Just about every starting pitcher, especially power pitchers, would be more effective in the bullpen. It is much easier and less important to pitch one inning than to try and go 6+ innings.

He's been a starter his whole life. The only reason he's pitched in the bullpen is because of innings limits.

Let's see how he does in a full season as a starter. If he shows he can't handle it, then by all means move him to the bullpen. Give him the chance to show he can be a starter first though.

The main reason pitchers become relievers is because they only have 1 or 2 good pitches. Joba has 3 very good pitches, and it would be a waste to limit his kind of stuff to 1 inning, when you can put it out there for 6 or 7.

This Nady injury is going to kill us. He could have played DH, because I think Matsui is finished. He has to sit 2 or 3 times a week because of his knees, and then when he plays he's no where near the old Matsui because his knees are shot.
