I don't think even he expected the reacton to be that bad. Ironically, most times even when the O's fans express their dirpleasure...it's NEVER, EVER that loud or sustained....
Yea, he stated before the game that he expected boos but also a few cheers.

He had nothing but boos. Perhaps it affected him, but hitters go 0-4 all the time. Next game he could go 3-4 and suddenly he's hitting above average.

Now, I won't go crazy over CC. I think he's a good pitcher, but I have always said that I didn't think he was worth that much money. I still don't consider him a true ace. Other people on these boards might or might not remember me talking about this over the offseason. Will he have an ERA under 4 and win 15+ games? Sure. I think so. But, I still have my doubts that he is amongst the top pitchers in the game. I consider him 1A in that list.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

It'll be like that for him every time he comes to the Yard. He is a Baltimore guy, he always got cheers when he was in Texas. The thing about it as far as the fans here feel and I've said it once before. $150 million in Baltimore will go just as far if not further than $180 million in New York. But hey the guy took the best deal for him and his family I can't blame him, he will only be at the yard what 9 times a year? He will be fine. Besides come July there will be more Yankee fans at Camden Yards then Oriole fans.

APRIL 6--While devoid of Plaxicoesque bombast and vulgarity, the police video of Joba Chamberlain's DUI arrest is not without its amusing moments. After a Nebraska State Patrol officer pulled the pit

Joba had some interesting things to say during his DUI arrest. I can't wait until the media blows this way, way out of proportion.

Hey Yanks, lets win some ball games eh?

This isn't the way I pictured the start to the '09 season.

I wonder what Sterling's call was?

                  I'm going with "A Tex-book swing"

                  Woo! Swisher home run!

LOL, I was on a call at the office when Tex went yard so I didn't hear Sterling's call but for Swisher he said, "What a hit by Saint Nick!"

Cano looks great so far, especially for a guy who has always been a slow starter.

Yes he has, and the Jeter/Damon thing is going well. Just need A-Rod back in the middle.

Not to be negative after a blowout win but I hope this doesn't turn into '06-'08 where our offense is non existent for three days then it blows up for double-digit runs and then goes quiet for the next few games again. That was not fun to go through all summer.

Hopefully that game leads to more starts for Swisher.

It wasn't like the offense was horrible the first 2 games. They scored 5 runs both of the first 2 games. I do want to see what the offense can do against a real pitching staff though.

I agree. The Yankees scored a good amount of runs the first 2 games (10 i believe in 2 games total). Their pitching is what did them in.

We get lucky that we are playing the Royals when they are throwing possibly the two worst pitchers in baseball, in Snacks Ponson and Horacio Ramirez. It's amazing how their pitching goes from an ace and 2 above average pitchers in Greinke, Meche, and Davies, to probably the 2 worst pitchers in the MLB.
