I'm up behind home plate in the upper deck. Me and my boys were actually looking at tickets in the RF bleachers but couldn't find four together. Either way I can't wait!

Looks like Nady is the favorite to start the season in RF.

I was hoping Girardi would have been smart enough to realize that Swisher is the better player. Nady isn't going repeat the numbers he had last year. Swisher has more power, gets on base at a better rate, and is better defensively.

I would be pretty concerned if X didn't win that job.

in my opinion nady is just the better hitter he is usually about a .300 hitter and swisher had a lot of strikeouts i believe last year.

Nady's only season hitting over .300 was last year. Before that the closest he came was .280.

Swisher did have a horrible year last season, but I expect him to return to what he did his previous seasons. Even when he struggled he put up an OBP nearly equal to Nady's career average.

On the other hand Nady had a career year last year, that he is very unlikely of repeating.

Here's a good article on the subject:

I know that Nady hits for a higher average than Swisher, but that's pretty much all he does. Swisher draws way more walks, which makes up for his lower average, and he hits for more power. In Nady's best season he only had 1 more HR than Swisher's worst season.

The Yankees' lineup will have a new look this season.

Derek Jeter will be the leadoff hitter and Johnny Damon will bat second, a top of the lineup switch the Yankees will use for the rest of spring training.

Manager Joe Girardi said the reason for the switch is because the team likes how Damon has looked batting second in spring training games. As long as the Yankees like what they see over the final week of spring training games, the team will bring this lineup into the regular season.
This is actually a pretty smart move by Girardi. Both Damon and Jeter get on base at good rates, but Jeter hits more ground balls, so he is more likely to hit into a DP than Damon.
