You know, I actually agreed with that article until the end. They don't want fans making their own "contributions" to the wall, which anyone would realize is inevitable.

What they should do is use it as an idea. Sadly though, it does seem like Mets lore is disgustingly absent from the new stadium. I just had a 2 hour long conversation about this over the weekend.

You know, I actually agreed with that article until the end. They don't want fans making their own "contributions" to the wall, which anyone would realize is inevitable.

What they should do is use it as an idea. Sadly though, it does seem like Mets lore is disgustingly absent from the new stadium. I just had a 2 hour long conversation about this over the weekend.

There's no reason for the Mets to have an "Ebbets Club" without having a "Shea Club". Shea was the guy who actually pushed for the creation of the Mets and now he's a black cloud because the Wilpons didn't like Shea Stadium. I understand Wilpon was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan, but he owns the Mets. Dwight Gooden is the second best pitcher in Mets history and he deserves to be honored. Unfortunately, the Mets consistently act without class or common sense.

for those of you who have actually been to the stadium, is it that bad? I mean watching the games on TV, the stadium gives me zero "mets feeling". I see the apple, which has only popped up 3 or 4 times, and the retired numbers, but is there anything else mets there? seats are green, walls are green. I mean shea wasnt all mets paraphenalia, but the seat colors, wall colors, the dirt, and some ads helped to give it a mets feel.

I love how the people complain about the green seats.. I haven't heard an Oriole fan scream because their seats aren't "white, orange, and black"..

Though I am a little upset with the lack of "Mets" around the park (like the inside of Shea had with the banners"..

I don't care about green seats really. They should be blue but it doesn't bother me much. I do have a problem with Ebbets Field and the Brooklyn Dodgers being the focus of our stadium.
