At this point Im willing to give them "The Most Unprepared Team in Baseball". Fielding, base-running, fundamental stuff is not being done, and on top of that, the starting pitchers are all having a hard time making 4 inning a night minus Santana.
Oliver Perez is playing like Oliver Perez. Just because they pay him 36 Million doesnt make him anyone else.
At this point, the Mets are a Delgado or Wright injury away from looking forward to 2010. I really dont want to hear about "Its early, or they havent started going yet,etc" These are the Mets of the last 2 years, the same lack of swagger, hustle or fire. Nothing has changed so the results will stay the same.

Yeah, let's see this in 2 months. Wonder how many "Fire Minaya" or "The Mets need to do so and so before I care for this team" comments we'll see this year.

Sorry squid, I just can't see how people who are watching this team can't be worried.

They are playing HORRENDOUS ball. They still play with a cloud over their heads. You can just see it. You can even get the feeling from the broadcasters. They see it too. There's no fire in this team. They are just going through the motions. It's not even fun to watch them play.

They are 1 game under .500 for the simple fact that Santana has been of the charts his first 3 starts.

Bah, f@ck them. I'll start watching again when they show some f@cking cojones.

Oh and Jerry Manuel needs to tap some asses inside that clubhouse. He needs to get some emotion from these guys.

All this low-talking, will be OK **** needs to stop.

I sometimes think this team needs a Pinella-Ozzie Guillen type of manager who wont let this kind of ****ty baseball fly.

I'm not worried simply because it is April. Every year there is a handful of good teams that look incredibly bad in April that then get in their groove. For the last few years, we were not one of those teams. This year we are. Now, if we see the same crap by mid-May, I'll start to sound the horns.

Exactly. Most teams are "going through the motions" at this point. Teams want to win at times, and you saw it when the Mets brought in Reed and got that game tying hit.

No one questioned their emotion then. You can't expect a team to be fired up for 162 games.

The only real issues with last nights game were Beltran's inability to slide (completely bone-headed, that's a rare thing for him) and Murphy's drop. He's cost us two games already. He's out of position and it may be starting to show.

We may have to put Tatis or Sheffield out there if this keeps up.

But to jump off the ledge at this point in the season is extremely pre-mature.

Well that's two games he has cost the team, not to mention that he was picked off first by Molina last night.. Not jumping, but you have to wonder.

Im not jumping, I mean I know its a long season, and I dont expect any team to dominate through 162 games. At the same time though, the attitude of the Mets has not changed, and until that changes, we are going nowhere.
