So Oliver got sent to the bullpen...

Smart move. I was happy to see it. I'm glad to see Mets management being proactive in situations like this.

I liken this to the Heilman situation. With Heilman, the Mets just kept sending him out there no matter how many leads he gave up. With Perez, they're trying to address the situation before it gets worse.

Who gets his spot in the rotation in the meanwhile?

At the time of my comment, what I said is what it was, the Phillies starting pitching was HORRIBLE. Adjectives my ***....the Phils offense was the thing keeping them above .500

What Blanton did was irrelevant at the time I posted...

It was directed at my fellow Mets "fans," not someone who has nothing better to do than post in their rivals team thread, solely looking to get a reaction rather than enjoy actual baseball discussion.

When did this "trolling" start anyways? I mean I was pretty civil in here until Carew felt the need to "bash" Philly success.

I just pointed out that the Mets continue to be choke artists, and play w/o heart... During Saturday's game on Fox Joe Buck stated that the Mets were 0-9 when trailing after 7 innings.

Carew wanted to point out our shortcomings in pitching, and speak about our "late inning comebacks" in a context that they were more luck and less of a quality/makeup of our team...well I wanted to point out to him that his/your team have no heart...which seems to be a touchy subject w/ Carew (ala Renegade), and seems to resonate very negatively w/ M.E.T.S fans in general...hmmm...wonder why?!?!

I'll stop...just don't make these sweeping accuasations of me trolling, while crowing yourself holier than thou, and not accounting for Carew's insults and trolling. Shoot...all this started from me posting after the first gm of our series where I make mention of "getting your lumps in while you can"...I wasn't going to cower and hide, and only come out after a PHI win over the M.E.T.S.

BUT...then Carew wants to give some sort of analysis on our success...so I give some "analysis" back about the Mets - it just so happens that Carew, being the overly senstive person that he is, gets a little sensitive when you mention Mets and choking/no heart in the same sentence.

Hey...I can't help that it's a major flaw of the team...I'm just pointing out what Joe Buck stated Saturday. That the Mets are 0-10 when trailing after 7, which to me points to them being choke artists and playing w/o any heart. You don't get called the Phighting Phils for nothing. We fight to the end...thus the comebacks... AND have a knack for winning games when leading after 8 innings (47-2).

Hatchet buried...at least on this issue.:wink:

There's a reason there are team specific threads on OS. Perhaps we can get back to discussing the Mets (once again).

If you have nothing to add aside from cute little acronyms, personal attacks or racial comments, don't post. Save everyone the negativity and confrontational posts that will follow.

I still would have tried to convince Perez to go to AAA. Away from the media, away from the big city, see if he can find his fecking head. i know he has to give the nod, but certainly someone can do some "heavy" convincing.

Agent could probably advise if asked, but you'd think Boras would want Perez to do well enough in the future to reach his incentives in the contract plus another one in three years with improved play.
