Wonder what is so different?

Anyway...Santana is earning every penny PLUS that we pay him. Just utterly fantastic.
Knock Minaya for giving Castillo that contract...not signing Lowe and signing Perez..whatever...but don't forget that he pulled off one SWEET...SWEET deal there.
Best pitcher in baseball IMO.

Looking back at that game....

Pedro Feliciano's job in the 8th was completely glossed over. All I hear about in the post game and on other media outlets is how great Santana was and K-Rod with another save.

MAN... give the lefty specialist some credit! His strikeout against Howard was HUGE.

Honestly, it's very early and I will reget this, but Castillo is doing what the Mets paid him to do this year. Play good defense and get on base.

While I appreciate that Castillo is doing well this early...

Plain in simple in my mind.....the contract given to Castillo was absurd. Now...and then(the economic climate). Plus I believe that move cost us from going harder after Lowe and instead signed Perez. That's a lot of conjecture on my part...but it's about 10 million per to play with.

I'm not getting nuts over it....just saying...

Let's hope the Mets can keep adding and piling on to their lead....it's kind of early still in the season to make statements, but I hope they absolutely will have buried the Phils by game's end.

dont get me wrong, I know Grienke has been unhittable with an invisible ERA....

my tie breaker between the two: John has done it longer and more recently...

Greinke probably was called up a tad bit early which certainly didn't help his first couple of years in the majors...

Yep. That's why I agree that Santana is best. He's consistant. Right now Grienke could implode at any time.
