What an unbelievable loss.

Give you guys that game is right! I can go on and on with the numerous mistakes there. That's a terrible way to have to go to bed at 2 am.

Pagan proves once again that he should be given playing time. Kids a stud.

True or not, you don't say that after the game. But I guess team leader Johan Santana set the precedent for this kind of behavior when he threw Murphy under the bus earlier this season after his misplay in LF cost the Mets a game. Speaking as a Phillies fan, one major difference I see between these two teams, talent aside, is that the Phillies play and act like a team while the Mets still seem to be figuring that out.

By the way, why does Manuel hate Church so much? It seems like he does nothing but produce when he gets to play, especially last season pre-concussion, but Manuel hates him for some reason. I mean, I know why Manuel hates him for last night's game, but it seems like he's really in the doghouse these days.

I saw that.

Even if you'd like to put them under the microscope, Beltran is right. The only problem I see with his comment is Pagan DID call for the ball. Repeatedly, many times.

Church seems to constantly be in the doghouse despite the fact the guy hits. Problem is, he makes mistakes at the WORST possible times. Who really knows how he reacts afterwards as well... Simply speculating but he didn't look too upset after that boneheaded blunder on the basepaths.

Gee - I wonder if Manuel will put K-Rod to play first.. heck, he has everyone playing there now. How about this -- actually either signing someone, or bringing someone up that can ACTUALLY PLAY THE POSITION???

Really stupid loss last night.. The error by Beltran? Things do happen. Having a p/t OF playing first base, or having someone miss third ? just plain stupid.

He really has been in a big slump since the opening two weeks...

Stokes pitched a helluva stint last night. It's a shame what happened. That throw is what gets Reed sent down to the minors. Pagan can hit just as well.

You make a good point, but he was also being platooned out there with Tatis and Sheff. That's not fair to Church; you can't expect the guy to get going.

At this point, Castillo has to come out of the 2 spot in the lineup as well. He's not helping the offense right now. He kept us going early on in the year while Reyes was slumping but I wish they'd try to put Church at the 2... perhaps even Murphy.

The offense needs some life. With Reyes and Delgado out, you need to shake things up. Can't just plug guys in as need be. Maybe bring up Wright to 4 now that he's making contact again.

It will be tough though Rod because LA has their ace going tonight in Billingsley.

It would be in the Mets best interest to be aggressive early because if Bills settles down he will shut down the Mets similar to what he did to the Phillies last week.

Hopefully it will be another great game.

Agreed...most of the time if a really good to great pitcher is going to falter a bit, it'll be in that first inning primarily...

so if ya gonna get em, that's when you do...
I've seen the Greg Maddux's, Derek Lowe's, Roy Halladays, Pedro Martinez', Jake Peavey's of the world go along the same lines...

The one thing Billingsley needs to do, is keep his walks down. Last year and this year so far, he's averaged 4 walks a game. That is on the high side...

Catch a pitcher on a bad night...and it's a potential for disaster. Remember what Frankie Frisch (as a manager) once said, "...oh, those base on balls..."
