He has been totally lost at the plate the last two years, chech out his stats below.

    2005 .291 17 hr 62 rbi
    2006 .270 35 hr 85 rbi
    2007 .254 14 hr 63 rbi
    2008 .225 15 hr 55 rbi
    2009 .201 6 hr 25 rbi

That is what you call a down hill trend my friend, add that to the fact he is an absolete joke defensively and there is no way I would rather have him then Rolen. I only think people are saying this because Rolen is out right now.

Let him rot in the free agent market, please. If he's not by next year(or at least riding the pine), I can't take this team seriously. You can't win with a leadoff hitter(well, now # 2 hitter) who has a .270 OBP.

The thing is he's not a free agent after this year, they were dumb enough to sign him for two years. How did they not know he was this bad defensively before the signed him? He takes bad routes on almost every ball hit his way. There is no way he should ever start over Dickerson or Gomes. Last night he started over Gomes and Gomes has been crushing the ball. I read a stat that said if Gomes had the same at bats as Adam Dunn has that he would have 36 hrs and 84 rbi's right now. Why does he sit so much????

I know he's not a FA next year, but the reds need to cut him after the year unless they just want to block some of the younger kids with an older terrible player.

I agree about Gomes he should start everyday, but it all stems from the fact the Taveras starts almost all the games. Dickerson should be in center which would open up RF for Gomes, and Balnetine/Nix could play LF. Also, with the Balentine addition I'm sure the reds want to get a good look at him so he has to start every few days.

I think Dusty realizes that the reds need a real leadoff hitter, so he puts Dickerson up there to make up for Taveras(who is probably forced to start by the front office because of his contract).

Now with Stubbs up I expect him to get most starts in center, because then the reds can see if he's ready or not for next year.

Wladimir Balentien as our everyday LF? Stubbs and Dickerson platoon CF, Bruce in RF and Gomes off bench

Well, I was talking about now. Whenever Bruce gets back I'd move Gomes over to left, and have Wlad off the bench and probably platoon Stubbs and Dickerson like you said.

You cant platoon Dickerson and Stubbs, Stubbs needs to play everyday. If they called him up just to face lefties they should have left him down so he could play everyday.
I am telling you right now if Stubbs plays ok the rest of the year you are looking at:
Stubbs playing everyday in CF, Bruce plays everyday in RF, and Gomes and Dickerson platoon in LF. I really think the Reds will cut Taveras loose this winter.
Also what is up with Votto leaving the game again last night with blurred vision?

Yeah, you're right there wouldn't be a reason to sit Stubbs.

LOL on Fay's Blog Reds fans already calling Stubbs a failure after 9 AB's prior to his walkoff.

Funny story about this, my brother called me on his way home from work and was like "Did the reds just hit a homerun?". I had just gotten home, so I went to check it, and I was like how did you know that? He drove past the stadium right when the fireworks were going off. Must be an exciting time for Stubbs.

Man, those fans really know how to let time go by before they make a judgement.

The end result of the game was just like the '79 NLCS...Reds lose.

Cool unis though, at least for the Pirates.
