Usually they fall off in the middle of June, this is the latest they have been in 1st since '99.
Also in the past they didnt have leaders/veterns like Rolen and Cabrera.

Took 2 of 3 from the Phils, clutch hit by Bruce in the 8th. It is always nice to beat a great pitcher like Roy Halladay. Back in first as the Cards lost! On to Wrigley to play the awful Cubs.

I went to the game, sat in the bleacher seats. That was a great game! It sure was nice to beat a great pitcher like Halladay. Hopefully St. Louis will lose and we will be 1.5 games up

I really hope you guys win the Central. Considering your past losing ways, I'm really hope you stay ahead of the Cards. We are awful, like 2006 awful, and I'm here representing the majority of the Cubs fan base in saying we are in support of you to win the Central instead of the Cardinals. Hopefully you guys not only make the playoffs, but go deep into them.

Thanks for your support but I STILL HATE THE CUBS and hope you guys lose 120 games!

Nice win again yesterday, 1.5 game lead now!
How good did Travis Wood look!
Baseball Tonight led off with about a 10 minute piece on the Reds, they talked about how much young pitching depth we have.

Yeah, the NL is pretty tight this year. Theres 2-3 teams in each division fighting for their division, and of course, the Wild Card. Since we're just about at the All-Star Break, the playoff picture is becoming more and more relevant and realistic. We're in command of the NL Central now, but July and August make or break your season. If you hit a summer swoon... it's curtains.

This is where we separate the men from the boys. Let's see if our young guys can handle the pressure of a pennant race. I'm so glad we have Rolen and Cabrera this time around. Winning follows those guys (especially Cabrera), and I think they've done so much for our club. The pitching has been solid enough so far with Cueto and Leake really throwing the ball well. Let's not forget, Edinson Volquez will be back later this summer, and we even have a wild card in Aroldis Chapman. I'm not sure about this, but is he on the 40 man roster and could get time in September? He could be a nice X factor out of the bullpen simply because he has the electric stuff. It just seems like those teams that go deep into the playoffs have that one rookie guy or young player that comes from no where and establishes himself in the postseason. If we get there, it'd be awesome to see Chapman show off his stuff as the world watches.

Thanks for the support. Hopefully the Redlegs can keep it up. Your Cubbies looked really bad today. Before the season, I'd never thought this would cross my mind, but does Lou last the season as manager?

I hope he does, Lou is a good manager, but it isnt his fault when they have players with huge contracts that dont perform

I agree with you, but sometimes management will see that as having lost the team. Lou experienced the same thing a little in '91 with the Reds, didn't he? They weren't very good that year. Even though they finished 2nd in '92, Marge got rid of him. One of those seasons he got into that fight with Dibble in the locker room. I don't know. I hope he stays with the Cubs but I don't think upper management will have the patience even though it's their fault for signing some players, who are now underachieving, to bad contracts.

Exactly. Even though Dusty is helping the Reds this year, Lou was the last manager for the Reds that won the Series... He seems to have lost some of his temper and fire. All that matters is that the REDS are in first place.
