That was a loss that shouldn't have happened, so many little things that added up. Volquez doesnt even look concerned when he is out in the first inning. Start a reliever for an inning, then bring him in ... J/k but this is out of hand.

Even if you were joking they have to do something. Hell, experiment and make him a reliever for a game and see what happens.

              5-0 record to a 9-9 record. wow.

but hey, no need to jump off the wagon, still 140 or so games left

Need to go on a run here, make a statement versus the Cards and Brewers.

Yeah, although the games count the same in the standings, August/September is when you can really make your move. I'd love for the Reds to build up a nice cushion in the division, but if it's neck and neck all year, so be it. Just gotta win the big ones.

Honestly, this might be a season where you can play kind of crappy in this division and still win it. I can see the Reds, or someone else, being not too many games over .500 and it being enough.

Glad to see the Reds finally get a win today. Leake pitch well considering his personal problems going on right now. Hope this gets them on track and they can take at least 2 of 3 form the Cards and Brewers. I'm actually making the trip to see them play the Brewers Wednesday so I hope they win that game.

He did. If they can get the win today, it will be huge. If they can take 2 out of 3 from the Cardinals IN St. Louis, it would be amazing. Plus they would be in first by themselves again.

Rough game. Good that volquez was mostly great, unfortunate that they gave molina such a hittable pitch with punto on deck. Rediculous end to the game, ump was giving strikes a foot out of the zone, clearly wanted to get out of the rain.

                            Better take 2/3 from Milwaukee.

Yeah that called 3rd-strike on Bruce to end the game was way high and inside. Absolutely terrible. That ump just wanted the game to end.

Agreed. They were just trying to get out of there, but it was a close game, not even a blowout. Shame.

Reds making up for it by putting up a 7 spot so far through 3 innings @ MIL. Way to come back after getting shut out last night!
